What is the purpose of RIDDOR?
It is to enable the HSE to investigate serious incidents and collaborate statistical data. The information is used to help reduce the number of similar accidents happening in future and to make the workplace safer.

Where must accidents be recorded when the are not reported to the HSE?
In the accident book

What is the purpose of the Accident Book?
This provides a record of what happened and is useful for future references. Trends may occur and the employer may take action to try to prevent that particular type of accident occuring again.
