Our volunteer team helps make The Student Room amazing. Here is who's on the team
There are lots of people who give their time to help support The Student Room and its community.
In this article, you can find out a bit about who they are and the areas of the site they look after.
And, if you'd like to find out how the volunteer team works (and maybe apply to join), you can check our page about volunteering with The Student Room.
Chat volunteers
Our Chat section houses several forums - the most obvious being the Chat forum itself. If you're in the mood for talking about something random, that's the place to go.
Also within Chat, you'll find Introduce Yourself, where newcomers to The Student Room can make their first post.
Students from outside the UK have a dedicated space in the International Lounge. And, if you're in the mood for some serious procrastination, Forum Games is your destination.

Life & Style volunteers
Life & Style is a huge section, covering a range of topics relevant to student life. Among them are forums for discussing Food and Drink, Travel, Fashion and Beauty, Advice on Everyday Issues and Faith and Spirituality. That last one is where you can chat to others of your faith, rather than debating religious matters (we have a religious debate forum for that.)
Some of the busiest forums in the Life & Style section are Health, Mental Health and Sexual Health. All kinds of questions are answered, and you can post anonymously here, as well as in some other forums. But remember this is non-professional advice and is no replacement for contacting your GP.
Any posts referencing suicide or self harm are removed: a specially trained volunteer then contacts that member to give them the help they deserve.

Entertainment volunteers
The Entertainment section has a broad range of topics, covering popular hobbies and areas of culture. So you'll find forums for football, film, music, gaming and TV, along with areas for chatting about cars, tech and mobile phones.
Also tucked away in there is the Creative Corner, which is the place to go if you want to share any kind of artistry with fellow creatives.

Study Help volunteers
Our Study Help section is at the heart of The Student Room. This is where you'll find students discussing coursework and exam revision for the subjects they're taking at GCSE, Btec, A-level and SQA (among others).
Forums are broken down by subject, which makes it easy to find help with anything that's got you stuck. It's busy here throughout the year, and then gets absolutely mobbed once revision time hits.

Universities volunteers
Our university sections are essential reading if you're at uni or planning on applying for a place.
In University and University Courses there are forums dedicated to specific university courses, as well as conversation on topics such as postgraduate applications, student life and issues affecting disabled students.
Within the student finance forum, experts from Student Finance England are available to answer questions throughout the week. In the busy Applications, Clearing and Ucas forum our trained volunteers can help with questions on all things Ucas, while our PS review team provides individual and confidential feedback in the personal statement advice forum.
The Universities and HE Colleges section has forums for universities across the UK. Many of these are visited by official representatives of the university itself, who can answer specific questions about their institution.
