Should euthanasia be legalised?

According to Debate.org 72 percent of people believe that euthanasia should be be legalised, but would it really be the right thing to do?

Euthanasia is a huge topic for debate and is often a sensitive topic to talk about. thexxsaiiraxx asked the TSR community their views on euthanasia, those that both agree and disagree with making euthanasia illegal.

Here are some of the hot discussion points that the community came up with:

No - why's this even a question?

Although most of the TSR community asked don't agree with william walker, walker has shared their opinion and say:

It shouldn't be. Murder is illegal.

They are not wrong. With making something like euthanasia legal, the laws and legislation will have to change. An argument to add to this could be making euthanasia legal under a certain circumstance. But who would make this decision?

How are you feeling right now?
Why should euthanasia be legalised in the UK?

Yes - isn't it down to them?

A person has the right to decide what happens to their body, not the government

Docjones1

This seems to be a strong argument in favour of euthanasia. If someone is suffering in their life, should they have the choice to pass away peacefully; do you think they should?

It's your own life and you should have the right to decide what you do with it

Howard

Howard agrees with Docjones1 and the majority of people that have commented in the thread here. That's not to say that making euthanasia legal is a step in the right direction.
