Open Days at Birmingham City University

Our open days take place throughout the year, giving you the chance to see what it’s really like to study at Birmingham City University. At our open days you can:

Enjoy a tailored and personalised experience: You'll be able to attend subject-specific talks and sample lectures, as well as having the opportunity to chat with lecturers, staff and current students to get your questions answered and see if BCU's the right fit for you. There are also general talks and info for things like finance and accommodation.

Meet lecturers and staff: From handy course overview talks from the staff who would be teaching you, to Q+A sessions on the day covering subject-specific information and then more practical information, getting to meet our friendly staff and asking them your burning questions is a great way to decide on the right course for you.

Explore our facilities and take tours: From our computing labs to mock wards for Nursing students, you can find out everything you need to know about our £400 million state-of-the-art facilities at our open day. can also check out the locations and quality of accommodation on bookable tours that happen throughout the day.

After you’ve applied to us, you may be invited to an Applicant Taster Day, where you’ll find out more about your course through taster sessions and meet people you’ll be studying with! You can also visit our accommodation and chat to our support services. Applicant Taster Days normally take place between February and April and you will be invited via email.

    Our Open Days cover all of our Music and Acting undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You’ll also have an opportunity to speak to our support teams such as Accommodation, Admissions and Finance, giving you an insight into how we can help you throughout your studies.
