Get ready to find out those grades
A-level results day is on Thursday 13 August 2026. On the day, your results can be made available to you any time from 8am onwards.
The exact time you'll be able to get your results will depend on your school or college. Most will be open on the day for everyone to come in to collect their results – check with yours to find out timings.
You might also find your school/college uploads your results to a secure online platform, such as their app. Still, it can be helpful to go in-person to collect your grades, just in case you need any help from the teachers there.

What happens to your university application on A-level results day?
If you're waiting on A-level grades for your university application, results day is when you will find out whether you've got the place you want.
Ucas Hub normally updates around 8:15am (sometimes every so slightly earlier), so you might actually get a decision from your preferred university before you know your exact grades.
Depending on how your grades turn out, you might choose to use Clearing to find a different university place.
Clearing can be used if you don't get the grades for your firm or insurance choices, and it can also be used if you decide you don't want to accept a university place that you have got the grades for. Our guide to Clearing 2026 explains all the detail.
If you're not happy with your results, you might consider a review of marking, or resits.

- In Scotland, SQA Highers results day is on Tuesday 4 August 2026
