Beyoncé - Lemonade

Pray You Catch Me - I've always liked her voice, but none of the songs I've heard from her before had been my cup of tea. This, however, was GOOD. :yy:

Hold Up - Nice sound overall. :yy: Though I struggle to take anything featuring air horns seriously these days.

Don't Hurt Yourself - Chorus was good, and I liked the energy, but too sweary for me.

Sorry - N words. :bebored:

6 Inch - Epic. :yy:

Daddy Lessons - And suddenly, country music? Absolutely fine with me! :yy:

Love Drought - Meh.

Sandcastles - Love a good ballad. :yy:

Forward - Okay, short.

Freedom - Powerful. :yy: Quite liked Kendrick Lamar's verses.

All Night - Noice. :yy:

Formation - Didn't like this.

7/10, better than I was expecting TBH.
Right time to intentionally listen to Beyoncé for the first time. My recent Spotify plays must look weird.

Lemonade

Pray You Catch Me - strange, nice

Hold Up - WHY ARE AIR HORNS A THING. NOBODY EVER ASKED FOR THEM. THEY HAVE NO PLACE HERE but alright song other than that

Don't Hurt Yourself - quite good

Sorry - bleah

6 Inch - nice?

Daddy Lessons - also good

Love Drought - alright

Sandcastles - good

Forward - not much to say

Freedom - eh

All Night - nice

Formation - ehhhhh

6/10, quite varied, alright to listen to, some nice songs but don't care for quite a few of them
Okay time to do a recommendation, haven't done one in a bit: Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-Love. I discovered them recently, I've listened to one of their albums and a few other songs by them but I haven't listened to this album at all.

(btw Ffunny Ffriends has the most earworm-y riff I've ever heard)

The poll is no longer a tie, so somebody has spoken!

Album 71

System of a Down - Hypnotize

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/3QxX3NbWyLlLG6lP1xveL3

(Yes, I know I said Mezmerize originally, but I changed my mind)

[EDIT] Apparently I can't count, either.

System of a Down - Hypnotize:

Attack - A fantastic intro. :yy:

Dreaming - Epic. :yy:

Kill Rock 'n Roll - Turns out this song is about a rabbit a band member ran over. I guess it makes *a little* more sense now I know that? :p: Awesome, either way. :yy:

Hypnotize - Better than I remember, which you'd hope from the title track! :yy:

Stealing Society - Yep, changing albums at the last moment was the right choice. :yy:

Tentative - Very emotional bridge. :yy:

U-Fig - Great fun. :yy:

Holy Mountains - I first learned of the Armenian Genocide via this song. Very powerful. :yy:

Vicinity of Obscenity - What a change in tone! Disgustingly hilarious. :yy:

She's Like Heroin - Alright.

Lonely Day - I've had a few days like that, thankfully not for a long time now. :yy:

Soldier Side - 11/10. :yy:

Or 10/10, that works too.
My replacement suggestion: Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape.
System of a Down - Hypnotize

Attack - idk the chorus seems so over-the-top it's funny

Dreaming - ok then I guess this is how it's going to be

Kill Rock 'n Roll - good...?

Hypnotize - alright...?

Stealing Society - eh

Tentative - alright...?

U-Fig - okay...?

Holy Mountains - yeeeeeah that one was good

Vicinity of Obscenity - what. I like the instrumental though.

She's Like Heroin - the lyrics page capitalises "ass". I don't know what to talk about.

Lonely Day - I liked this one.

Soldier Side - I also liked this one

hmmm... tough one, I think this conclusively determines for me that I don't really like heavy metal but there were still some songs I liked. 6.5/10...??
Multi-Love - an album I haven't heard from a band I have heard.

Multi-Love - alright. Slightly disappointed though.

Like Acid Rain - more like it

Ur Life One Night - weird sound but I like

Can't Keep Checking My Phone - nice

Extreme Wealth and Casual Cruelty - favourite so far. Cool outro

The World is Crowded - fairly relaxing. It's alright, more like background music

Stage or Screen - weird with headphones :lolwut: and yes I also thought a new song had started during it

Necessary Evil - alright

Puzzles - pretty good.

7/10, nice songs but not as good as their first album I think. Is he self-conscious about his voice, too? Can't seem to find a song where it hasn't got some effect layered on.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-Love

Multi-Love - Oh dear, I don't think I'm going to get along with this one!

Like Acid Rain - Nope.

Ur Life One Night - Music video was nice, at least?

Can't Keep Checking My Phone - Almost good, maybe? :dontknow:

Extreme Wealth and Casual Cruelty - Better Actually, nah, too long, it started grating on me by the middle. Nice instrumental bridge, though!

The World Is Crowded - Namedropping Evangelion isn't enough to get a thumbs up from me. :noway:

Stage or Screen - Not quite.

Necessary Evil - Something's still not clicking with me, but the best so far. :yy:

Puzzles - Noise.

1/10... sorry Sinnoh. :colondollar:

1/10... sorry Sinnoh. :colondollar:

wow I think it's tied with Charli as your lowest score
it was quite the opposite of the previous one tbf
Screamadelica:

Movin' On Up - Cheery intro, though not really my thing.

Slip Inside This House - Not bad at all. :yy:

Don't Fight It, Feel It - Quite catchy. :yy: RIP Denise Johnson. :rip:

Higher Than the Sun - Alright.

Inner Flight - A pleasant instrumental. :yy:

Come Together - Nice message, but long and repetitive.

Loaded - RIP Andy Weatherall, too. :rip: Don't think your music is for me, though. :colondollar:

Damaged - Very different to the last few tracks, more my style. :yy:

I'm Comin' Down - Relaxing. :yy:

Higher Than the Sun (A Dub Symphony in Two Parts) - Meh.

Shine Like Stars - Nice track to end on. :yy:

6/10
I think we're out of non-duplicate suggestions?
(apart from Ke$ha, but pls... act on your instincts, as the government says)

Some suggestions, haven't listened to most of them:

Rage Against The Machine (self-titled)
King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black
Disraeli Gears OR Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs OR Slowhand (they all feature Eric Clapton)
Tom Waits - Mule Variations

Thanks for the new suggestions! 'Set it Off - Midnight' from way back + my own recent suggestion of 'Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape' are the only other ones left, as far as I'm aware... this could quickly change into the two of us taking turns.
I do not particularly listen to any of those artists in the poll, I'm more of a rock fan.

The poll was for our 70th album pick, which was last week, so is no longer relevant - we do a poll every 10 albums, but the rest are suggested by members and picked by myself or @Evil Homer. Feel free to suggest something!

Ah yeah the poll is done, but that's what happens when you're doing best of the 2010s
We've had quite a lot of rock though, that's got to have been the most common genre here
Screamadelica

Movin' on Up - a lot lighter than what I was expecting from a band named 'Primal Scream' but I like it

Slip Inside This House - alright, kinda background music

Don't Fight It, Feel It - Reminds me of some of the crap CDs my dad used to put in the car, but better

Higher Than The Sun - Ok

Inner Flight - Nice.

(for whatever reason, Spotify refuses to play Come Together. It's greyed-out)

Loaded - alright

Damaged - nice, bit long?

I'm Comin' Down - nice but still a bit long

Higher Than The Sun - Dub Symphony - I prefer the second part oh wait never mind it got worse

Shine Like Stars - ok

My enjoyment of this album decreased as it went on, it just seemed to drag on. It's like every episode of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, where the menu is way too long and complicated and doesn't fully work

so 6/10 as well
My suggestion- The Fall- Sub-lingual tablet. Their penultimate album and a late masterpiece. RIP Mark E Smith.
