Blondie - Parallel lines

Not bad. Not great though, 6/10
Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow

After listening to this I went and listened to White Rabbit again and maybe that boosted my impression of the album because it was one that I recognised and I liked it a lot. But then I had another look through the songs and I realised... I hardly remember these!
I also didn't check the track listing and listened to four bonus tracks. Kind of a shame because I thought In The Morning was a highlight.

Blondie - Parallel lines

Hanging on the Telephone - Classic. :yy:

One Way or Another - One of those songs that I've known all my life, but never bothered to look up who sung it. :ms: Good stuff! :yy:

Picture This - Sweet. :yy:

Fade Away and Radiate - Also great. :yy:

Pretty Baby - This one didn't do much for me.

I Know but I Don't Know - Not for me either.

11:59 - Alright.

Will Anything Happen? - Meh.

Sunday Girl - Always loved this one. :yy:

Heart of Glass - I was never fussed on this when my parents played it during my childhood... really like it now. :yy:

I’m Gonna Love You Too - Surprise Buddy Holly song! :zomg: Preferred the original, but this was a fun cover. :yy:

Just Go Away - Passable.

7/10. Lost interest in the middle, but it picked up again. :yep:

Before I bother the Section Leader to set up a poll for #90, is there any interest in doing the 1950s as a decade (with or without the unpicked options being added to the backlog), aside from my own? If not, we could revisit another decade? Idea suggestions for #100 also welcome. :yep:
The Poets of Rhythm - Practice What You Preach

Some tracks towards the end were a bit boring but otherwise very good. 8/10
The Poets Of Rhythm ‎- Practice What You Preach

More Mess On My Thing - Funk is not a genre I listen to much, but it's pleasant. :yy:

Upper Class - Very good. :yy:

Funky Runthrough Pt. 1 & 2 - Meh.

What You Doin' - Alright.

North Carolina - Catchy. :yy:

Practice What You Preach - Nice. :yy:

Strokin' The Grits - Passable.

It Came Over Me - Lovely. :yy:

The Plan - Fun. :yy:

Choking On A Piece Of Meat - I expected more from a name like that!

Saltin' The Soup - Okay.

6/10 from me. :blow:
This idiot phone of mine hasn't got a headphone jack so I'll listen to this Monday evening maybe when I'm back home

Album #89

Boney M. - Nightflight to Venus

Adding Talking Heads - Remain In Light to the backlog, though I'm swiftly running out of artists. :ahee:
Boney M. - Nightflight To Venus

Nightflight to Venus - Decent intro. Great drums, and I do love an oldschool robot voice! :yy:

Rasputin - Phenomenal. :yy: Though I do prefer the energy of Turisas' cover.

Painter Man - Catchy! :yy:

He Was a Steppenwolf - Not bad, but more suited to the dance floor than to casual listening.

King of the Road - Brings back childhood memories of road safety adverts. Original lyrics are alright.

Rivers of Babylon - Another big hit, and deservedly so. :yy:

Voodoonight - Spooky. :yy:

Brown Girl in the Ring - Didn't know they did this!

Never Change Lovers in the Middle of the Night - Fantastic. :yy:

Heart of Gold - Nice. :yy:

7/10 from me.
Just remembered an album that I thought about suggesting quite a while ago so I'll suggest it now since the backlog is running low: Racine Carrée by Stromae. I think that's the first non-English one since the Icelandic one

Listening to Practice What You Preach now
I don't know that there are any albums I listen to that we haven't had (or had albums from the same artist).
Oh and maybe High Visceral, Pt. 1 by the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. Yes that is their name.
Have we had You've Come a Long Way Baby (Fatboy Slim)?
Practice What You Preach felt more like background music. I might play it again just for that purpose simply because funk is quite nice. 7/10.
Is this the first time there hasn't been a wikipedia entry for a band or album?
I'll add the new suggestions to the backlog now. :yay:

Santana - Supernatural was about 50% Spanish. :moon:

Midnight by Set It Off had no Wikipedia page (the band does, though). :moon:

Nope, but added.
Nightflight To Venus :awesome:

Nightflight to Venus - cool intro, only slightly ripping off Fauré's Pavane :colondollar:

Rasputin - god I ****ing love this song

Painter Man - very good

He Was A Steppenwolf - good but too long

King of the Road - nice

Rivers of Babylon - oh, this is the version I've heard all my life...

Voodoonight - seemed good, didn't listen carefully

Brown Girl in the Ring - alright

Never Change Lovers in the Middle of the Night - better

Heart of Gold - nice.

Kind of took a dip on side 2 but still very good. 8.5/10
