Julee Cruise - Floating Into The Night

Floating - Nice relaxing, dreamlike sound. :yy:

Falling - Simple, slow, satisfying. :yy:

I Remember - Started off more of the same, not that that was a bad thing... got very unsettling towards the middle, but I like that in music! :yy:

Rockin’ Back Inside My Heart - Sweet. :yy:

Mysteries of Love - That synth, though. :coma: :yy:

Into the Night - Haunting. :yy: Again with the sudden dramatic noise near the end though, really woke me up!

I Float Alone - Dark, beautiful. :yy:

The Nightingale - Nice. :yy:

The Swan - Wow. :yy:

The World Spins - And that's a perfect 10 from me. :yy: :congrats: I might have to check out Twin Peaks myself!
Added David Sylvian - Secrets Of The Beehive to the list.

Poll has been updated!
Bit late but I've already listened to Floating Into The Night so it can wait a bit :flute:

So here's Turn On The Bright Lights

Untitled - quite good. bass so meaty you could make stock for days from it.

Obstacle 1 - also good. This is sounding like Joy Division with better mixing.

NYC - eh, alright.

PDA - nice enough

Say Hello to the Angels - that was good. Nice change later on.

Hands Away - that was different. I liked it.

Obstacle 2 - eh

Stella Was A Diver - nice enough

Roland - also decent, getting a bit indistinct though

The New - different, better

Leif Erikson - alright.

Started off well, got a bit less interesting but I do like it and probably will give it another go at some point. 7/10
Whatever your thoughts on how Morrissey has descended to in recent years, you cannot but admire the work of The Smiths, and Johnny Marr's solo work is excellent.
The dramatic orchestral sting in Into The Night scared the **** out of me the first time I listened :yy:

Same here! :afraid:
Julee Cruise - Floating into the Night

I'm afraid this one is not for me  Very slow, couldn't get into it at all. 3/10.
Okay I will balance out the score on Floating Into The Night because I thought it was very good. It's the kind of music best enjoyed at about 2 a.m., but any time of day it's still enjoyable.

I really like Falling, but then again that's the one they use for the opening titles. Floating and The Nightingale I also liked especially. Sometimes I recognise the leitmotifs from the show's soundtrack too, although most of the album was entirely new to me.

So that'll be 8.5/10 from me
AC/DC - Power Up

Realize - Evidently, they've still got it! :yy:

Rejection - Not bad.

Shot in the Dark - Really liked this one! :yy: Great video too.

Through the Mists of Time - Brilliant. :yy:

Kick You When You’re Down - :yy:

Witch’s Spell - Fantastic lyrics. :yy:

Demon Fire - Introducing 'Side 2' with as much energy as the first. :yy:

Wild Reputation - Alright.

No Man’s Land - Bit slow.

Systems Down - Nice. :yy:

Money Shot - :yy:

Code Red - What a solid track to end on! :yy:

9/10, honestly preferred this to Back in Black.
AC/DC - Power Up:

Wild reputation - Very nice.

Kick you when you're down - :headbang: (I was basically doing that involuntarily while listening to it)

Shot in the dark - Pretty decent.

Through the mists of time - Pretty neat.

No man's land - not my favourite.

Rejection - Alright.

Demon fire - Good but lacking a sharper edge in some places.

Witch's spell - :thrasher:

Money shot - Lovely.

Realize - Really nice guitar on this.
I listened to Power Up, think I prefer other AC/DC albums honestly. 7/10
David Sylvian - Secrets Of The Beehive

September - Lovely intro, if a few months late! :yy:

The Boy With The Gun - Epic, love this guy's voice. :yy:

Maria - This is just the type of haunting, atmospheric, emotional, spooky dirge that I love. :yy:

Orpheus - That fade and restart half way through is perfection. :yy:

The Devil’s Own - Gets better as it goes. :yy:

When Poets Dreamed Of Angels - Brilliant guitars. :yy:

Mother And Child - Love the unsettling, jarring instrumentals. :yy:

Let The Happiness In - This is indeed the most upbeat song on the album. :yy:

Waterfront - Beautifully dark. :yy:

9/10 from me, and not just because there were only nine tracks to give thumbs up to. :p: As much as love the sound and the themes, it does get a bit repetitive, even with all the variety in instruments.
I'm in an album-listening mood, let's do this
David Sylvian - Secrets of the Beehive
Now this one's so obscure the lyrics don't exist on azlyrics!

September - good start

The Boy With The Gun - very good continuation

Maria - dark-sounding. Still good.

Orpheus - changed things up nicely :yy:

The Devil's Own - and again!

When Poets Dreamed Of Angels - pleasant.

Mother And Child - also.

Let The Happiness In - pretty nice. I like the instrumentals.

Waterfront - relaxing

Forbidden Colours - starts off like Zelda music. Also relaxing.

8.5/10, had no idea what to expect but I liked it very much.
Oh, and I've added all poll runners up with votes (King Crimson - Red, The Smiths2 and Weezer2) to the backlog as usual. :yep:
I wish this one didn't win because now it's going to be ages before we do Revolver or Abbey Road :grumble:
