Hollywood’s Bleeding - Interesting, quite liked it. :yy:

Saint-Tropez - This, not so much. :noway:

Enemies - Chorus was good, rest was meh.

Allergic - Much better. :yy:

A Thousand Bad Times - Somehow manages to make the words 'star', 'false' and 'cost' rhyme. :zomg:

Circles - Epic fantasy music video, but the song was pleasant background music at best.

Die For Me - Decent. :yy:

On the Road - Nah.

Take What You Want - Unexpected Ozzy Osbourne! Solid track. :yy:

I’m Gonna Be - Pleasant intro, rest was boring.

Staring at the Sun - Good. :yy:

Sunflower - Cute. :yy:

Internet - Good message, but not my kind of song.

Goodbyes - Guy certainly has some great music videos!

Myself - Couldn't hold my attention.

I Know - So-so.

Wow. - Didn't wow me.

6/10. Certainly varied!

Lily Allen - Alright, Still

Smile - Ah yes, I remember this one. Nice stuff. :yy:

Knock 'Em Out - Fun song. :yy:

LDN - Remember this too, takes me right back. :yy:

Everything's Just Wonderful - Loving the catchy, upbeat vibe this album has while delivering some scathing social commentary. :yy:

Not Big - Savage! :yy:

Friday Night - EPIC chorus! :yy:

Shame for You - Good~ :yy:

Littlest Things - Cute. :yy:

Take What You Take - Decent.

Friend of Mine - Bit meh.

Alfie - :yy:

9/10, fantastic. :congrats:

I disagree, Lily Allen just no.
Post Malone - Hollywood's Bleeding
Liked it better than I expected to! Fair bit of variation with the style. Favourite song was definitely Take What You Want, the title track and Allergic were good too. Most others pretty forgettable though, and I still find the autotune sound grating.

6/10

Hollywood's Bleeding

Really liked this one - especially Take What You Want. 8/10
The Kinks - Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)

Victoria - Nice sound, clever lyrics. :yy:

Yes Sir, No Sir - Yes Sir. :yy:

Some Mother's Son - Sad, but good. :yy:

Drivin' - Fun! :yy:

Brainwashed - Decent.

Australia - The (mostly) instrumental second half was fantastic. :yy: First half wasn't bad either.

Shangri-La - Loving their irony throughout this album. :yy:

Mr. Churchill Says - Nice use of the speeches, and air raid sirens. :yy:

She’s Bought a Hat Like Princess Marina - Love it. :yy:

Young and Innocent Days - Very pleasant and nostalgic. :yy:

Nothing to Say - Also brilliant. :yy:

Arthur - Fine ending, liked the lyrics referencing previous songs.

10/10 - while it didn't feature any individual tracks on the same level as Lola or Apeman, it was consistently good, and I enjoyed the themes + story.
The Kinks - Arthur

Victoria - bloody excellent.

Yes Sir, No Sir - pretty good.

Some Mother's Son - well, that's depressing. But good.

Drivin' - alright

Brainwashed - really good.

Australia - nice. Learned that there was a whole advertising campaign getting people to emigrate around that time.

Shangri-La - 2nd favourite song here.

Mr. Churchill Says - "oh I'm in a band" "nice what do you play" "the air-raid siren". But it does get banging when that comes on.

She's Bought a Hat Like Princess Marina - ok

Young and Innocent Days - pretty nice.

Nothing to Say - ditto

Arthur - very good.

8.5/10. Better overall concept than Lola vs Powerman, maybe more consistent with song quality, but fewer that I especially like.
Dio - Magica

Discovery - Creepy robot voice, I like where this is going!

Magica Theme - Nice little instrumental.

Lord of the Last Day - Solid track, and I liked the chanting at the end. :yy:

Fever Dreams - Good :yy:

Turn to Stone - Fantastic intro; rest of the track didn't *quite* live up to it for me.

Feed My Head - Better. Liked the slower, middle verse a lot. :yy:

Eriel - Dragged on a bit. Great outro, though!

Challis - :yy:

As Long as It's Not About Love - Epic ballad. :yy:

Losing My Insanity - Really interesting sounds in this one. :yy:

Otherworld - Okay.

Magica (Reprise) - Great lyrics. :yy:

Lord of the Last Day (Reprise) - Shorter version of track 3.

The Magica Story - Story time with Dio! 18 minute backstory on the album theme, with nice BGM. Didn't hold my attention for long.

7/10

Dio - Magica

Magica Theme - pretty cool

Lord of the Last Day - also decent. Slow headbanging song.

Fever Dreams - fairly good riff and solo

Turn To Stone - I prefer ELO's. Also, isn't that the exact same riff as before?

Feed My Head - ok

Eriel - more diminished-y. nice

Challs - ok

As Long As It's Not About Love - nice.

Losing My Insanity - ok.

Otherworld - ok.

Magica reprise - getting bored.

Lord of the Last Day - skipped this one

The Magica Story - nah I'm not listening to all of this.

Started off nicely but I think the tracks were too similar to each other and it was too long really. 5/10

Joy Division - Closer

Black Sabbath - Paranoid added to the backlog for later.

Now that we've covered years ending with 0-9, does anyone have any suggestions for future poll themes? I could loop back to 1 again with a different lineup, or pick a single year at random to focus on? Definitely open to other ideas, though!

I've wondered about doing it by genre. Like, which jazz album to listen to next, which prog rock album, which R&B album, that sort of thing. There probably will be some top lists done by Rolling Stone or NME or whatever that include albums for this.
Joy Division - Closer

Atrocity Exhibition - Fantastic first track, love the percussion. :yy:

Isolation - Also good. :yy:

Passover - Dark and moody, great stuff. :yy:

Colony - Epic. :yy:

A Means to an End - Best so far. :yy:

Heart and Soul - Better still. The instrumentals and muted, reverberating vocals sound amazing! :yy::yy:

Twenty Four Hours - Little bit too similar to earlier tracks.

The Eternal - Haunting. :yy:

Decades - Beautifully dark. :yy:

9/10
Joy Division - Closer
ehhh I'm a bit disappointed. I preferred Unknown Pleasures. Could've been a bit more melodic, although I guess that's not the point. Maybe it'll grow on me. Closing track was very good though.

7/10
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele

Beauty Queen / Horses - Wow, what a voice! :yy:

Blood Roses - Powerful. :yy:

Father Lucifer - Decent.

Professional Widow - Nice sound, but a bit explicit. :colondollar:

Mr. Zebra - Short but sweet.

Marianne - Wow. :yy:

Caught a Lite Sneeze - Epic. :yy:

Muhammad My Friend - Good.

Hey Jupiter - Lovely. :yy:

Way Down - Another short one.

Little Amsterdam - Nice.

Talula - Fantastic. :yy:

Not the Red Baron - Alright.

Agent Orange - Good short.

Doughnut Song - Beautiful. :yy:

In the Springtime of His Voodoo - Great vocals and piano. :yy:

Putting the Damage On - Saving the best for (second to) last. :yy:

Twinkle - Fine.

9/10. Just a little too long.
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele

Very nice. 8/10
And I'll recommend My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
Joy Division - Closer

Not my favourite. 6/10
