Three Imaginary Boys

10:15 Saturday Night - Drip, drip, drip, drip... :yy:

Accuracy - Odd, but good. :yy:

Grinding Halt - Great stuff. :yy:

Another Day - Bit too unusual.

Object - Didn't like the reverberating vocals.

Subway Song - Creepy! :afraid: Great harmonica, though.

Foxy Lady - Not familiar with the original, but I did like this. :yy:

Meathook - Brilliantly bizarre. :yy:

So What - :nn:

Fire in Cairo - Had its moments, but overall, nah.

It's Not You - Okay.

Three Imaginary Boys - Didn't stand out.

The Weedy Burton - Pleasant but short instrumental outro.

5/10 once again for The Cure.
Three Imaginary Boys was... alright. I think I preferred the first few songs. Accuracy maybe my favourite.

6/10
Desmond Dekker & the Aces - Intensified

It Mek - Good start. :yy:

Too Much Too Soon - Nice.

Coconut Water - Alright.

Sweet Music - Title. :yy:

My Lonely World - Underrated gem. :yy:

Rude Boy Train - Catchy! :yy:

Poor Me Israelites - Timeless classic. :yy:

It Is Not Easy - Are there any gangsters that he does want to end up like?

Intensified - Great song. :yy:

Nincompoop - Nincompoop is a fun word.

Tips of My Fingers - Lovely slow ballad. :yy:

Wise Man - Meh.

7/10
Intensified

It Mek - I like.

Too Much Too Soon - this album could really do with a remaster.

Coconut Water - nice instrumental bit at the end

Sweet Music - yep

To Sir With love - ok.

Rude Boy Train - bit better

Israelites - different, favourite since It Mek

It Is Not Easy - pretty nice.

Intensified - yeah it's alright

Nincompoop - didn't expect it to be used so poetically.

Tips of my Fingers - very nice

Wise Man - alright

6/10 again, nice sound but not that much variety. Sound quality not great either.

Ooh, I remember them now! Quite liked their song.
The Magnificent Tree

Autoharp - :lolwut: I much prefer the parts without the sampling.

Mad About You - much more like it. However, the music video is awful.

Waves - pretty nice.

Jackie Cane - riff seems unimaginative. But some cool cadences in there.

The Magnificent Tree - pretty cool.

Vinegar & Salt - loved this one. They ought to do a Bond theme.

Frosted Flake Wood - :lolwut: are those fart sounds? Easily the worst of the bunch

Everytime We Live Together We Die A Bit More - different, decent

Out Of Sight - Particularly good

Pink Fluffy Dinosaurs - meh

L'Odeur Animale - meh. Actually, I liked the instrumental at the end.

Renaissance Affair - surprisingly good. I'd say that's the 4th best song on the album.

Some excellent songs, a few pleasant but forgettable, one terrible. 7/10
The Magnificent Tree

Autoharp - Dr. Walter Duda... Not the most promising start. :erm:

Mad About You - Fantastic. :yy: Didn't mind the giant plant monster love story, personally. :p:

Waves - Nice, dreamlike. :yy:

Jackie Cane - Good. :yy:

The Magnificent Tree - Interesting lyrics! Sounds great, though, similar to Waves. :yy:

Vinegar & Salt - Epic. :yy:

Frosted Flake Wood - Odd. Very odd.

Everytime We Live Together We Die A Bit More - Different, but I liked it a lot. :yy:

Out Of Sight - Decent. :yy:

Pink Fluffy Dinosaurs - Given the title, and the bizarre lyrics, I'm surprised at how forgettable this was.

L'Odeur Animale - Slightly better.

Renaissance Affair - Solid ending. :yy:

8/10 from me.
In case there was any confusion, the poll should be working again now, Cheese fixed it 12 days ago. :yep:

...or have I just picked an unpopular genre? :colondollar: Happy to take suggestions for the next one!

Queen - A Night at the Opera

Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...) - Surprisingly mean, not what I'm used to from the band's lyrics. Very good, though! :yy:

Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon - Amusing short, much lighter!

I’m in Love with My Car - Decent. :yy:

You're My Best Friend - The album's (distant) 2nd biggest song. Always liked it. :yy:

'39 - Subtle sci-fi now, very much to my tastes. :yy:

Sweet Lady - Outro was epic. :yy:

Seaside Rendezvous - Fun. :yy:

The Prophet's Song - Really liked it at first, but a bit long, and the 'now I know, la la la' bit in the middle didn't appeal.

Love of My Life - Nice. :yy:

Good Company - I like. :yy:

Bohemian Rhapsody - It's Bohemian Rhapsody. :yy:

God Save the Queen - Literally the English national anthem as a guitar-led instrumental.

9/10. Very nearly a 10, but The Prophet's Song didn't do it for me in the end.

My plan was to look them up beforehand because I have nothing to go on
A Night At The Opera
Listened to it yesterday, relistening now. I give it 9/10, a little more consistent than News Of The World with a few songs that are almost as good as It's Late. I haven't listened to many Queen albums actually. Just the two we've already had.

Death On Two Legs - I very much like this.

Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon - I prefer The Kinks'... oh that's "sunny".

I'm In Love With My Car - weird, very good though

You're My Best Friend - wholesome Queen. Very recognisable intro.

'39 - quite different, but it's very good. And Brian May is singing!

Sweet Lady - a bit more conventional, but enjoyable.

Seaside Rendezvous - instrumental is sometimes... jarring. But fun.

The Prophet's Song - holy ****.

Love Of My Life - very good

Good Company - nice. chill.

Bohemian Rhapsody - ...

God Save the Queen - good version.

This album is good enough that it doesn't just feel like waiting to get through it until Bohemian Rhapsody comes along.
Album #228

Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (Face To Face)

Queen - A Night at the Opera

7/10. Some really standout tracks but I probably won't listen to it as an album again.
Twin Fantasy (Face to Face)

My Boy (Twin Fantasy) - Pleasant opening. :yy:

Beach Life-in-Death - This was an experience! Some parts of its three parts were better than others, but I liked it on the whole. :yy:

Stop Smoking (We Love You) - Good message. :yy:

Sober to Death - Nice. :yy:

Nervous Young Inhumans - Meh.

Bodys - Is it the chorus yet? :yy:

Cute Thing - Clever, but not for me.

High to Death - Grew on me, I like these dream-like songs (even if this one is implied to be more drug high-like). :yy:

Famous Prophets (Stars) - Too long and slow.

Twin Fantasy (Those Boys) - Nice enough. :yy:

7/10

Twin Fantasy

Sounds a bit different to the other indie rock ones there have been. But god damn it is long. Maybe I'll give it another go some time in the future. Favourites were Bodys and Cute Thing.

7.5/10
Actually, so that the next album isn't buried at the end of this page, I'll use this post to add Elvis Presley's self-titled debut album to the list.
