So what do you guys honestly make of the desire hD. Im for the first time thinking of making the transition from a blackberry to a proper smartphone, and this appeals more to me than the iphone due its screen which is absolutely amazing!

The screen is big, yes. But it's not the best screen available. The SGS and iPhone have more vibrant and sharp screens. The LCD in the DHD looks a bit washed out in comparison. Still by no means a bad screen.
I'm in the market for a new phone and I'm stumped.

Is the DHD battery life as bad as the reviews state?

It's either going to be The Desire or the Desire HD.
I don't know which one to get!
Does anyone know how I can push(I think that's the right term) my uni email/hotmail or gmail to my phone? Basically how I can link them up?

How much money would you save going with the Desire?

I'm using the Desire atm. I have to charge it every night, but that's because I use wifi a lot and mess around with the apps/games too much. :colone:

I have the HTC Desire and it is awesome. Having said that the battery can be a problem if not properly managed with a combination of aeroplane mode and Advanced app killer. The issue is mostly apps running in the background, but the advanced app killer (free on android market) can be set to auto kill all apps every 30 seconds which solves this issue.

Depends how you use it. Do you have things like wifi turned on when you don't need it? Umm what is the brightness level if it at the lowest and everything turned off that you don't need to have turn on then I'm unsure really.

Gmail is easy.
From home screen MENU>Settings>Accounts or do it through the Gmail app. A google account is your key to enjoying Android

Stiill no idea how to forward emails from uni (or mine at least).

It turns out I already set up a google account when I receivec my phone but I can't remember the password so I set up a new one and I simply clicked on the mail widget, POP/IMAP and that was it but the uni email didn't work with that set up.
just found out that there is a porn market place on androids aha

Not that much I guess.
Might as well get the DHD, can always change if needs be.
When it comes to smart-phones you're just going to have to deal with the fact that battery life is going to be no more than a day. It'll need charging every night. I don't know why they keep adding more tech to the phones yet leaving the battery power as it is.

The Stig speaks truth. However I am in love with my phone, especially battery life. Usually listen to the music for about 6 hours without pausing. Make the occasional text and call during the day usually about 20/30 texts a day. I also play a few apps a day and use the internet daily checking emails and facebook. I start off with 100% and by around 11pm it's about 15% so I'm quite impressed for the battery life by my hero.
Any way I can get "Screen Suite Lock Screen" or something similar for free? I've looked on Aptoide and it isn't on there :frown:
