UKCAT

I have a few questions
As it is on computer do you have to read the extract first then answer the questions or can you read first then come back if you want to the extract? (VR)
And does anyone know of UKCAT comouter mock tests?

I am in Yr 12

P.S you can skip a question and come back but I avoided doing this as it would waste valuable seconds, but it really depends on you and your exam technique and prior plans.

1. You don't really have time to sit there and actually read the extract. You need to scan it, get an idea of what is contained in the text and where, then tackle the questions by rapidly referring back to the text after you know where things are.

2. UKCAT mock tests are easily found. Google.
Wow, don't even bother thinking about the UKCAT yet. Really. :tongue:

since you are in year 12 i would advise you to concentrate on your AS levels to get the best grades you can, also to do as much work experience and extracurricular as possible, once you finish year 12 then would be the best time to prepare for ukcat because they do not take much preparation to get a really high score.

To answer the original question, the passage is presented side-by-side with the questions. The article is always there so you can refer back to it without 'flicking back pages', as it were.

A good book to use for your preparation is this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/into-Medical-School-comprehensive-explanations/dp/1905812094/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290983932&sr=8-1

The best time to start your preparation is probably around April or May as the exam doesn't start until July and the amount of preparation material is not enormous. Also it is a good idea to start with the book to understand the techniques, get familiar with the format and to do online practice only when you get closer to the exam, list 2 weeks before.
