FML - Just had an absolutely horrendus day; sad, depressed, angry... just total FML.

Right, technically it was yesterday, but I just got home and need to let it out and forget this day ever existed. It will be a long post - I promise. Appreciate it if you read it, it'll be quite a good read laughing at me, probably.

I'm guna talk as if it's still part of the day - so when I use today, I mean 1/12/2010 and when I say yesterday, I mean 30/11/2010, if you know what I mean.

So it all started yesterday, on very short notice, girlfriend asked me to see her because she had a new job and could go out (finally). I was happy to do so, seeing as it's a very hard LDR and I hardly get to see her. Problem was, my and girl... live 5-6 hours apart on a normal day, and trust me, this was no normal day.

I asked how long for, etc, and she said she was working, so just her lunch break (half-hour). I said fair enough, better than nothing and seeing as my train travel is free, i'll meet her and then meet other people I know from there or whatever, if I have time, just a good day out, get away from my house (family = :facepalm2:) and see the person I love.

Nothing was confirmed and I had work yesterday too. 6pm-midnight, quite a late shift and she told me about half-way through my work, so I phoned a few people and got 3-4 things cancelled which I had planned - especially apologising for it being last minute.

Thankfully, work was rather quiet so they let me go home at 10pm rather than midnight and it gave me more time to plan, etc, since I got home 10.30pm, which I didn't use very well. I got my clothes and whatever ready, checked the train times, weather details and what not and went to bed at 1am.

RANDOMLY, I started having trust issues. :| And I mean randomly. I mean she told me a few small lies in the past about meeting guys and told me it was girls, etc, but I won't go into that. I re-gained trust for her and I had no problem with the meeting guys, just the lie got me a bit :s-smilie:. Anyway, since she apologised and whatever, our relationship was all good (and in general despite being such a far LDR, it's a really good one) but 1am to 5am (the time I had to wake up to catch my 6.55 train), all I had was dreams of her cheating on me.

It was really really weird. In one dream, it was me meeting her after soooooooooooooooooo long (which is true irl - haven't seen her for a while), but just as I saw her, another guy was hugging her (more than a friend :colonhash:) and went in to kiss her. And I quickly ran over, broke that up and ended up punching her in the face. Like, fully-flat in the nose. :lolwut:

Just for the record, i'd never hit a girl irl. Ever. I once said to my sister, if she considers self-harm, i'd give her a smack, but that's different. I wouldn't hit a random girl, let alone my girlfriend. But yeah... I didn't sleep. At all. Woke up 5am naturally, before my alarm and just went into the shower. Mum was up and asked me where I was going - so I lied and said "to work - I have a morning shift". Firstly, i've never worked mornings in my life. Secondly, i'm Asian, couldn't tell her i'm going to meet my girlfriend. So I just carried on with my day. Trimmed my pubes and stuff for oral (don't ask, I had more time than I expected ) and shaped my up facial hair, got dressed, perfumed, and set off onto the train.

On my way to the station (travelling by bike), I thought South Wales was cold. And if i'm being honest, at 6.30am, pitch-black outside, it was cold. But this was like July in Spain compared to what I was going to face later in the day. If you haven't realised, i'm talking about today now.

So I got to the station, had nothing to eat, bought an upper crust baugette, choc muffin and a cappicuno. Was delicious. Got on the train to Bristol, where I had to change to go up North, and whilst I was in Wales - all was good tbh. It's home to me and there was next-to-no snow and I was happy (apart from the lack of sleep and short notice and random trust issues re-appearing).

Had a 10-15 min wait at Bristol Parkway. I was shivering. That's how cold I felt. Train was delayed a bit as snow had started in Bristol (I swear England is ****ed up in terms of snow :s-smilie:) but still, this was nothing compared to what I faced next.

Next stage of my day was the travel from South England to North England. Quite a long journey, with plenty of delays but finally managed to sleep a little bit, so I had a little bit of energy, still felt a bit... knackered, to say the least, though. Got to the North and **** me, the snow was terrible. Shocking. It was like a blizzard. At this point, I had no idea how bad it was since it hadn't snowed more than a few millimetres in Wales - but later I found out the hard way.

So got to my destination train station up North and well, there was no taxis, no buses, nothing. I needed to get to somewhere which takes about an hour to walk, all up hill, on a normal sunny day. I waited a while for buses and asked a few taxi drivers, but they all said no chance.

I didn't know this city very well, the area I was going to, not at all, but I thought **** it, and walked. :| Quite possibly the biggest mistake of my life. I should have turned around, and gone straight back home. But nope, I thought I haven't seen her for a while, missed her sooooooooooooo much, it'll be really really nice to see her, so carried on.

To summarise so far - i've travelled 6 hours on train, waited half hour for buses and taxis but none were running due to snow blizzard and now i'm going to walk the following:

* 1 hour 40 min walk - all up hill; due to no buses and taxis running

* Snow got heavier and heavier - was half way between ankle and knees to start with

* Some people were wearing wellies, some people plastic bags on their feet - I was wearing low top converses and a hoody

* All this to meet my girlfriend for her half hour lunch break - the return journey still needs to be made and that's even worse

There's still worse, tbh. I got there and saw her at 1.48pm today, despite getting to the city at around 12ish. She told me that the snow was so bad that she had the whole afternoon off. So, as happy as I was... I hugged her, told her I missed her, kissed her and then we went into a sweet shop. I bought a snickers duo, we had half each. At this point it was 1.51pm. We went to a quiet side-street and she told me her dad is picking her up at 2.15pm; and it takes about 15 mins to walk back to work, from where she met me.

So, we pretty much repeated the time I saw her; hug, kiss, waved bye-bye at 1.57pm. I travelled all that way, by train, in all that snow, by foot, drenched, covered in white, my hair all flaky and hard... to see her for 8-9 minutes. lol.

fml, already. :frown:

She better give me a 40-minute straight-no stopping blowjob and swallow every single drop of come to make up for that, tbh.

Gets worse though. So I walk back then, took about an hour and a quarter this time - I knew more of the route and it was down hill. So then I hop straight onto the train home, thinking that was such a bad experience to have. My feet frozen, my ankle socks, summer ****ing socks, not winter cotton ones, absolutely wet, my shoes ruined and my jumper like a pornstars vagina.

Train back to Bristol is half an hour delayed from Leeds, and train to Manchester from Leeds is in about a minute, after asking the information lady about the quickest route to Wales. So I run across the platforms in Leeds and hop onto the Manchester train to get a direct route to Wales, whereas the other way, i'd have to wait 30-35 mins and then change at Bristol.

That was honestly the worst decision of my life.

Train from Leeds to Manchester was delayed into Manchester, so missed 17.30pm, as it arrived about 17.38 so had to wait 50 mins for 18.30... most of which I just spent arguing with her, about the day, and her just apologising, which I later accepted. So keeping with the Northern tradition, I got a pasty. Food was probably the best part about today - I ate a lot of it, don't drink alcohol, so I relied upon food to drown away my sorrows.

So, 18.30 came around and I got onto the train from Manchester to South Wales. Yay! Home in less than 3 and a half hours. WRONG. It took over 5 hours...

ffs, half way during the journey, a train infront of us broke down and we had to sit there for about an hour and a half, doing **** all. It's like this day was planned and it was meant to be fml, after fml, after fml. So when I should have arrived into South Wales at 9-10, I arrived at 12am and biked home.

Parents were seriously worried, plus my phone ran out of battery so I couldn't text/ring them to tell them I was okay. Being Asian, I knew they'd shout at me too. Overall the day consisted of 5am-11.55pm and then I came home.

The fml didn't end there, tbh. Now my phone won't turn on. Well, I charged it and it says 'insert sim'. I mean wtf? How did that happen? Now I need to go to the O2 shop and re-tell this tale.

Seriously why??? What the heck did I do wrong?

FML. :frown:

Ydi for travelling so far just to see your gf for half an hour. That crosses the line between romantic and stupid.
Reply 4
LMAO that was amazing.

TL;DR
Guy travels for ~19 hours across England in the ****tiest weather and with the worst luck ever to see girlfriend for a total of 9 mins. An epic performance.
(edited 13 years ago)
It wasn't that bad. At least it wasn't one of those ****ing awful black days when nothing is pleasing and everything that happens is an excuse for anger an outlet for emotions stockpiled, an arsenal, an armor.

I really sympathize with you, you poor thing. You might not like this, but I'm going to be honest here. I think she's making a fool out of you, and you're letting her. There is NO WAY I would let my partner travel all that way for a lousy few minutes, even if the weather was lovely. Fair enough if you're were seeing her for a week or so, or even the just for the weekend, but a few minutes??! She can't care, surely.
Forget about her. It sounds like she just fancied a bit of company on her lunch break. And the fact that her 'Dad' was picking her up? I'm sorry, but any decent person would get their Dad to pick you both up, or phone their Dad up to cancel and go somewhere else. Wtf?!
You deserve better. xx
Jesus.

Summary: "I have trust issues, it's snowing! FML! Everything is delayed! FML again! Travelled in the snow to see gf, miss her lots, more snow, fml again, after 6hours of travelling, get to see gf for 10min, no blow job (boohoo), everythings delayed on way home, train breaks down, and now phone wont work."

Sorry to be a pedant, but pasties are not a northern tradition. Cornwall is the home of the pasty. Aside from that, fair play for your effort mate.
Reply 9
That is a pretty epically **** day, I take my hat off to you.
Reply 10
It took me about 9 minutes to read that, at least I didn't have to take a ~5 hour journey to it though.

I looked at it and just went:shock: but I'm sure however bad it is you'll get over it.
Reply 12
Should have bummed her for the 9 minutes you spent together, would have made it slightly easier to deal with.

FML. :frown:

Soooooo you were willing to do a 6 hour trip regardless of all this other stuff happening to see girl for 30 minutes.

1- Get a life
2- Get a new girlfriend if she expects that from you
3- Lol @ you
4- Grow a pair

Man up!
