I actually completely agree with you. Saying loud, rude Americans must be of Italian descent was totally uncalled for and incorrect. As was that comment about British people being unfriendly. I spent most of my first day in London trying to figure out where I was on a map, and several British people stopped to ask me if I needed help.

As for the BBC, wow I did not know they actually did that and was funded by the people? I actually watch the channel from time to time, but not for any news. One time I was watching a show where a man created a house completely made of legos. I know, kind of something a child should watch, but I grew up building with the things so I liked it.
I cannot say anything about Obama.

I'm still confused. What would you rather have... a completely free market health care system where if you got the money, then thats great... but if you don't, you're rejected treatment. Or a system where those who can afford to, pay for their own treatment, and those who can't, receive government assistance?

As the the BBC being funded by the taxpayer, its not the only TV channel. The TV Licence money is spent on Public Service Broadcasting - ie news reporting, educational shows, sports that are nationally significant, entertainment and radio output. Part of the reason its so huge as a broadcaster in international terms is that is was set up to cater for the habits of the British people.
We like football, rugby, motorsport, tennis etc. and in the cases of Wimbledon, Premier League and football league highlights, Six Nations Rugby, Fa Cup, World Cup, and Olympics are put on a special list that means in order to have the rights, it must be made free to air - theoretically any broadcater is eligible to do this - Rupert Murdoch's Sky would easily be able to out bid the BBC for any of those rights, but they would never pay all that money and not have it free to air. The other PSBs are ITV, Channel 4 and Five, all recieving Licence money, and all commerial TV stations. The BBC is still dominant, and even more so in the radio sector.
Anyway, I actually like the BBC, I may be biased, but its put out high quality progamming in most genres. I dont know if you have something similar in the US.

You're entitled to like your country. I'm entitled not to. Here's why (a few choice reasons, there are many more)

1.) You are home to more extreme religious fanatics / right-wing nutjobs per capita than any other country since Nazi Germany (with the possible exception of Iran).
2.) For the past 100 years you have flouted the sovereignty of countless other nations to further your own aims, values and religion.
3.) Recently, you set off a war which has cost hundreds of thousands of lives, and we still don't know why you did it.
4.) You re-elected Bush
5.) The Americans we get to see abroad tend to be loud, arrogant and somewhat brutish.
6.) You're sore losers.
7.) Some of you actually listen to Glenn Beck.
8.) Others amongst you considered voting for the bimbo-cum-lunatic that is Sarah Palin.
9.) You are a country built on immigration, and yet you are now doing your best to persecute immigrants.

Despite the guaranteed right to freedom of speech, the liberty which is mentioned so often as sacred in your consitution, and so many other big statements, when a normal, everyday man tries to expose your inner dealings to the public, your leaders accuse him of terrorism and start an international manhunt for him.

Your foreign affairs policies all end in disasters, you end up with ridiculous people taking power (George Bush, the momentum the Tea Party's been gaining, even Obama isn't that great, but relative to most politicians he's OK), as a nation you have so many ridiculous extremes from ultra-conservative backwards religious nuts to idiotic gun-wielding maniacs, you practically worship a constitution written to solve the problems that faced a nation hundreds of years ago and

there are a large number of Americans who are just, in general, very rude.

The governemnt shouldn't decide based on someones paycheck who gets financial assistance for health care and who doesn't. Why should someone who works very hard (and I am by no means infering that the poor don't work hard) for their money have to pay for some form of treatment, and another who isn't able to earn the same amount of money, gets it free from the government? To me that encourages people to be lazier because they know the government will support them if they can't support themselves. Gov. should support all or none.

Sadly there are people who work their hardest yet are refused medical treatment and end up having to sell their homes, whether this be because of their insurance provider being a typical insurance provider or because they simply can't afford the insurance premiums. If there isn't to be some sort of government assistance on healthcare because that would be tooooo socialist, then at the very least there should be stricter government regulation on the insurance providers to make it more affordable for all. It surely can't be acceptable that someone is rejected from lifesaving treatment based on their ability to pay?

Why do you even care? You know they're wrong so why would you let it bother you? There's nothing you can do about it. Just ignore it. It actually gets pretty funny once the shock wears off. + This topic has just been done to death.

The Fox News Channel is actually a very controversal topic here. My boss' first words to me when he hired me (I work in a cafe) was that I could put the television on any channel except the Fox News Channel because he believes that they are liars and manipulating viewers to increase their profit.

America is a vile country, their people think they're the only country that exists. The dumbness in that country is just laughable at times. I don't particular like the American attitudes either, very arrogant like the British!

The only thing that country knows is how to kill innocent women and children across the world. Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Panama, Libya, Vietnam, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan. I could go on all day!

I'm 99% certain he was being sarcastic, which incidentally is a difference between Brits and Americans. If you move here it might take some time to get used to the humour, lots more irony/sarcasm and casual insults to friends.

But the news/tv here is good, BBC can sometimes be biased - it's pro government which is sometimes quite noticeable - but we have other papers/channels like The Guardian and Channel 4 which give other views (The Daily Mail is ****ing terrible though, I don't even consider that a paper; we get the good with the bad).
I did a research project based on the differences between American news and British news actually and I've got to say that American news is a lot more biased in general Fox/CNN are awful.

Personally I go for a mix of BBC, The Guardian and Al Jazeera (obviously a bit of a lefty).

We also have the best underground music in the world in my opinion (dubstep, drum and bass, garage etc), only Germany comes close. You may feel differently though.
