Was England's 2018 'world united' concept flawed?

I mean, compare the videos on the England 2018 website and the Russia 2018/2022 website.

http://www.russia2018-2022.com/en.aspx

The Russian video focuses on Russia's infrastructure, culture and ability to host a successful world cup. In comparison, the England video (although noble) just babbles on about a united world, and features various communities around the globe. There is no focus on England's infrastructure, ability to provide an enjoyable and successful world cup, the culture that gives it identity, etc.

I mean, it completely flies against the point of having separate nations competing to host the games.

Do you think this is part of the reason for England failing?

This is the thing. England has no identifiable culture of it's own so it has to hijack other cultures. They'll do the same for opening ceremony of 2012 olympics.

It worked in their favour for obtaining the olympics with their presentation but thats about it.

Scotland, Wales & All Ireland has more culture than England.
