AS/A2 Sociology Grade Boundaries?

Hi, where can I find out the AS/A2 grade boundaries for AQA Sociology in England? My teachers have been leading me to believe it's 70% as opposed to 80% for an A however all other subjects seem to be 80 so i'm doubting this? :s-smilie:

Thanks

I don't know where you can find it but I'm pretty sure it's 80% for an A.
It was for my AS in Sociology at least, definitely. 70% would seem far too low.
Yeah i need to know.
Last year i got an B and C
which totalled as a D :frown:
so im retaking the C

also someone i know got B B and ended up with a C

units 1 & 3 are out of 80 - 64 is an A..
units 2 & 4 are out of 120 - 96 is an A
alltogether you need 320 out of 400 for an overall A in Sociology.

80% in terms of UMS, raw mark works out to about 70% I believe.

It continues down in the same patten, so A - 80%, B - 70% etc.
For an A* at A2 you need an A at AS and then 90% in your A2 exams.

It depends, to some extent, on how your teachers mark your work - if they're just doing a "straight mark" (with no attempts at fancy conversions) this is where the grade boundaries fell in 2010:

Unit 1: 60 marks
A: 42
B: 38
C: 34

Unit 2: 90 marks
A: 62
B: 57
C: 52

Unit 3: 60 marks
A*: 51
A: 45
B: 39
C: 33

Unit 4: 90 marks
A*:61
A: 55
B: 49
C: 43

I would guess this is how most teachers tend to mark so it gives you a reasonable idea about what you'd need to do to get the various grades.

If my (very shaky) maths is right, AS is around 70% for an A, A2 around 75%(ish).

Overall I got 128/200 in sociology which was a C.

Teacher said I needed 12 more marks to get a B.

However. I got 38/80 on one unit and that was an E, so if I got 12 more marks on that it would only be a C. So how does a C and a B equal an overall B?

I don't get this stuff I really don't get it.

I got an A and a C in english which overalled an A.

Really weird.

oh i got an A overall now
I got B's on all three units
it worked out at mid B's for AS
and a High B for unit 3
then i got 118/120 on unit 4

So yay after thinking it was impossible to get an A, and after my teacher telling me i got a C at AS (she is an idiot) i got an A overall
