Sometimes you pronounce it RIGHT, invoking wtfs from everyone else.

"Do you have any Braun toothbrushes?"
"Wha?"
"Braun toothbrushes."
"..."
"..."
"OH! BROOOOOORN toothbrushes."

Bad times.

I pronounce it 'brawn'

Pronounce it how it's spelt. e.g. that girl from the X factor becomes 'trake', jalapeños becomes jalla-peenoes, and deadmau5 becomes dead-mau-five.

I thought that's what they were called :ashamed: .

Rhyming with yawn? Yeah, so does almost everyone, but the company Braun is German, so it's technically pronounced brown, meaning and sounding like the colour.

EDIT: Lol, neg all you want, you can't neg away the truth. :awesome:

Goes both ways... unless there's a third way I've yet to discover.

I say it "memay", my mate says "meemee" (which sounds like a hungry seagull to be honest).

Well wikipedia says it rhymes with cream.. so it must sound like 'meam' .. ?I dunno lmfao, not like im ever gonna say it .

I would say it would just follow "magic E" rules :s-smilie:
millennium

i say it 'minnellium'

and economics as 'ecomonics'

You're both wrong, it's 'meem'.

Yeah, that just sounds wrong to me. Dunno why. Probably because it doesn't fit in with the spelling, just like many other words that are pronounced adversely to the way they are written.
Say it really slowly in a fresh accent then see how they would say it oh no that's for spelling lol

Yeah, you posted that while I was typing my response.
I just kind of skip over them :colondollar:

"english english english *mumble* english"
I pause, look worried, if whoever I'm speaking to still doesnt get the message I just take a shot in the dark
talking to a german or going to germany. Simples.
Pronounce it wrong until someone kindly lets me know/ look it up/ ask someone.

Just found out now that I've been pronouncing meme wrong! I say it so it rhymes with 'them'. :ashamed:

Either have a good go at it, or if I think I'll need to be able to say it out loud in front of others, ask someone else how they'd pronounce it.

I'm having trouble with the word 'phagocytes' at the moment. Everyone else seems to say 'FA-go-cytes' whereas my brain prefers 'FAY-go-cytes'.

I always thought meme was pronounced like the creme in creme caramel.

I also mispronounce anomalous as anonymous until a few repeats.

There are plenty of other words I mispronounce, but I can't think of them at the moment.
