£1.2m valued Stradivarius has been stolen...

... along with two bows worth £60,000.

How gutted would you be if this happened to you?

Spare a thought for Min-Jin Kym then.

Such things can happen in Pret A Manger!? Well I never!
Sky News Online understands the 304-year-old Stradivarius was taken from South Korean-born violinist Min-Jin Kym while she was in a branch of Pret A Manger outside Euston train station in London.

Police did not confirm who the victim was, but said she stopped for a bite to eat at the station last Monday evening while she was carrying the instrument.

Half-an-hour later the 32-year-old realised the 1696 violin, which was in a black case, was gone. Also taken were two bows, together worth more than £60,000.

Don't say that!!!

I just had an image of my violin (admittedly not a strad but a beautiful design anyway) burning in a fire :frown:

Wow, that's a crazy amount of money for a violin!

well, look at it this way, what's the difference between a violin and a trampoline?

you take your shoes off before you jump on a trampoline

thank you, I'll be here all week!

Wow. I know it wasn't really her fault (though I won't even take my eyes off my sandwich when I'm at Euston, let alone my violin) but that's still quite an achievment.

It's like the time my brothers mate got so drunk he left his epiphone les paul in a kebab shop, but a lot classier.

I do hope she gets it back though, she must be crushed

well spotted

i first saw this story in the Daily Fail but decided against linking that as a source due to the sheer amount of ridicule it gets on this site, so i opted for Sky News instead...

.... backfired a bit there
Maybe it was the US and they'll be exposed by Wikileaks. :iiam:
