Bullingdon Club scum got a little taste of their own medicine - good!

"Giving education to the labouring classes of the poor would teach them to despise their lot in life, instead of making them good servants in agricultur*e and other laborious employment*s to which their rank in society has destined them; instead of teaching them the virtue of subordinat*ion, it would render them factious and refactory. It would enable them to read seditious pamphlets, vicious books and publicatio*ns against Christiani*ty."

(Tory MP Davies Giddy on the Parochial Schools Bill,1807 )
(Hansard, Vol 9, 13 July 1807)

You have to give it to the Tories - they are consistent*. Consistent scum decade after century!

You've got a pretty skewed definition of scum.

There's a certain degree of irony in that the people you clearly support were acting like complete thugs trashing whatever they could and fighting with the police wherever possible.

I was state educated and yet I don't bare any grudge towards those who weren't; I judge people based on their character NOT by the way they talk or the quality of the lifestyle they've had.

It's because of insecure, jealous mongs like yourself that Britain will never be able to escape the idea of a class society. Everyone is now desperate to show how 'working class' they are.

People want their children to go to the best universities, to get the best education and to get a good job. Yet those same people will show open hatred towards those who are Oxford and Cambridge graduates.

Your sort of people are the scum, no one else.

Congratulations btw; your evidence that the modern Tory party hates the poor is 203 years old. I suppose Labour still believe in nationalising everything and America is still super keen on slavery?

Yeah, that quote could easily come out of the mouths of people like Cameron and Osborne, albeit behind closed doors these days. I think a lot of young people are now beginning to realise what Conservative government means, it means protecting and advancing the cause of the wealthy and privileged and making everyone else suffer. Damn, we're only six months into this coalition and already there has been serious unrest against them, they are gonna be so deeply hated by the end of their first term.

Yes, Tories are elitists. Always have been, always will be. It's nothing new.

Well, no they didn't. The only people who weren't protesting who got hurt were the public-sector police. So, y'know, well done.

Nice try, but no cigar.

Hooray for class-based hatred because of a quote made over 200 years ago when society's values were completely different.

Class warfare truly is the nadir of British politics.

Isn't it funny how the people so opposed to classes are the ones tht always bring it up. If you constantly berate anyone better off than you, don;t you think it's natural for them to coninue to reset the proles?

I ****ing wish people would stop all this. I can only reply with:

"...left-wing people find it very hard to get on with right-wing people, because they believe that they are evil. Whereas I have no problem getting on with left-wing people, because I simply believe that they are mistaken."- Roger Scruton

I may disagree with the man on a fair bit, but the past few weeks have really bought the truth in that out.

To which I would simply reply with "a witty saying proves nothing"

I don't believe the Tories are evil, as such. Don't put words in my e-mouth.

One can only suppose you know nothing about the Bullingdons.
The Bullingdon Club is a socially exclusive student dining club at Oxford University. The club has no permanent rooms and is notorious for its members' wealth and destructive binges.

That Tories hate the poor is clear from their actions - my evidence merely showed that they haven't changed in 2 centuries.

Congratulations - in response I refer you to the behaviour of your good friends over the last monh.

As their actions are only thought to be devisive by muppets who haven't thought to actually look at all the changes mentioned I don't recognise your point. Surely Labour were trying to divide society by your logic when they introduced fees?

Don't kid yourself - "The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles."

Even more rubbish.

The fact of the matter is, there has been so much labour/union led propaganda and blatant lies about the new proposals that a lot of people seem to think the Tories have it in for them.

I don't like the Conservatives one bit, but I hate Labour and their devious ways a lot more. They (and their supporters) seem to have a short memory for starters.

The education system as a whole requires a revamp and re-adjusting anyway. I don't agree with all aspects of the proposals either, but it was inevitable and I don't see a better system being proposed by anyone else.

As far as the tories go, they offer more social mobility for working class people than New Labour ever did or ever will. New Labour advocated an authoritarian state, infrigning peoples' civil liberties and human rights at almost any given oppurtunity. They pissed away all the money and ****ed the country's finances. They took us to war twice (also a major contributory factor to the recession, yet most analysts seem to overlook it). The leading figures in the party are largly inept and incompetent. Most of them also hold very questionable world views. Above all, they are all hypocrites.

Much of this is probably redundant to the argument as it applies to most Tories and Lib Dems as well, however curcially the parts that don't are quite specific to the previous government.

This is the problem with career politicians. Excuse the generalisation, but they are all corrupt as hell. They would stab their mothers' in the back to extend their power.

/end of pointless rant.

Wrong, Labour hates the poor more.

Without the largely illiterate, underclass it created and now relies upon as a large part of its electorate, the Labour party would disappear. It is in Labour's interests to keep us down. They are typical socialists/psuedo-communists - they want to lead a rich, posperous life. But they don't want us anywhere near it. They want to pull the strings and control us like little puppets.

**** new labour.
Where are all the slaves and men in coat and tails and canes and tophats? 200 years ago, that's where they are, along with that quote. And so what if they were in the Bullingdon Club? What has that got to do with some idiot disgracing the Cento? Or some thugs smashing windows in Oxford Street?

What you are saying is absolute bull****. It's like trying to blame the Boy Scouts for deforestation.

It has everything to do with it.

If, like Cameron and Osborne, you spent your student days smashing places up for laughs, you have ****-all moral authority to complain about students smashing-up your gaff. Simples.
