Hydrolysis products?

Lactose hydrolysed = alpha glucose + H2O + galactose?

Or is it two alpha glucose?

My text books say conflicting things :s-smilie:
Isn't it just glucose and galactose?

You won't get water out. Water goes into hydrolysis and comes out of condensation.

Thats what I thought and that;s what my book says but the sample paper answers say that its two glucose... and I can't see how that makes sense
