Recovery of Overpaid Grant - HELP!!

Hi guys,

Today I received a letter from the SLC entitled Recovery of Overpaid Grant.

I was studying in my second year and postponed studies to continue next year september. The main reason being my dad was struck down with Meningitis and I need to support my mum by working.

I understand them tryong to recoop their money but what options do I have available to me?

You have to pay back all grant for any period from when you stopped to the end of the summer. They will not consider any further funding until it is repaid.

Set up a payment plan and just explain. They will give u money dont worry!!! As long as u r showimg ur paying it.

The same happened to me i owe them 1700 i phoned them and they said i could set up a payment plan

How long ago? They have toughened up on grant repayment a lot since October.

Previous overpayment, now studying again 09/10 and 10/11 no problems. Filled in forms and grant repayment on hold.
