Help! eBay Seller Fees Recurring Billing Payment?. WHAT?!

Help! I have had this email twice now I'm pretty sure. This one is from Paypal.

I have sold one thing on ebay - this was the beginning of November. Why do I have to pay recurring fees!?

ebay.uk? Are you sure this isn't a fraud email? Do you even have a halifax acc?

I get this email all the time, you only get charged once.

I just got a reply back from Paypal's spoof checker;

Panic over! I only worried because yes I do have a Halifax account
In my ebay account, and it corresponds to a payment I made earlier which I assumes was for when I actually sold something in November.

Latest invoice amount (30-Nov-10): £10.76
New activity applied to the latest invoice noted above: -£10.76

-£10.76

My only question is... how come the amount was the same?

Don't know. That was rather genuine though, but the e-mail gave it away, ebay.uk lol???? not ebay.co.uk. At least you sorted it out anyway, glad I could help.

I didn't notice that at all! I was just there staring at the amounts being the same. I never fall for anything like this it was just the fact the information corresponded to payments I'd made before. Anyway thanks for the help!

At a guess, I'd say that they can calculate it from the amount your previously listed items sold for... I could be wrong!

Also, have you noticed money coming out of your account? Although if you do sell something every month then it makes sense. You might be looking at the actual ebay invoice which I just found I still have.

I think I'll change my passwords though just to be safe.

Forget all those people who don't have a clue about ebay and are just writing nonsense. Here is the answer:

Either you sold something for around £100

AND / OR

* You chose more than one picture (each additional costing £0.12)
* You chose a gallery picture
* You set the starting bid higher than £0.99
* You had a reserve price
* You chose a Buy it Now price
* You chose an advanced layout
* You scheduled to sell the item rather than start the bid at the same time

All of these and many more cost you a certain amount of fee. This will be paid at the end of your month (every ~30 days)

Hmm I think they do have a clue, I was asking about recurring payments. I know I had charges to pay in November (for selling), which I posted. I paid my charges in November. It is now December. But thanks anyway :colondollar:

I had the same problem - I sold my first item the other month and have received two emails about recurring seller fees.

I just forwarded the one I received today (same as your email) to the paypal spoof emails and got the same reply about it being a fraud attempt.
