Cricket's brilliant. You get good spectacles from the fantastic catches and the brilliant shots and once you understand it fairly well you can properly appreciate the tactical nuances that make, particularly test, cricket really engrossing. Then you have 20twenty which is just a day of watching people slog it. It makes for an enjoyable five minutes, but really I just find it dull. It becomes a lot more about individual people rather than the team and tactics.
I find football not so much dull as not worth it. It generally has a few exciting minutes in a game and you have to sit through 85 others to find them. The real problem is the attitude that goes with it. I could never be a big fan and get really into it because I'd have to support the massive commercialisation of it, the view that it's the be all and end all of life and the general massive hype about what is, in the end, 22 men running up and down a field occasionally falling over and screaming foul.
