I do it though not because I fear they'll reject me or whatever. More because I think relationships are over-rated and I'd rather be *nearly* there, rather than *there* because when you are there it's actually all mediocre and there's nothing to aspire to.
The aspiring for a relationship makes me happy, not being in a relationship.
IDK if this makes any sense, I've told friends in the past and they've looked at me weirdly.

I go weird on them. If I start to get that hint that they like me, it's like I get embarrased and start ignoring them. Maybe I'm scared of being in a relationship or something...

Nope, not me, I get close to them, but not that it does anything.
I believe that's being tsun, which only works in anime :P
