SPSS- t tests?!

Hi,

I hate t tests i don't understand them at all :frown:

I've somehow managed to do one and i've got t= -5.92... does this mean the result is significant? :frown:
Please put me out of this misery

Thanks in advance

It is dependent on other things as well.

What is the alpha level and is it a one tailed or two tailed test?
What is the degrees of freedom?

Anyway, t=-5.92 sounds like it will probably end up being significant.
