5 choices, 5 offers!
How dya choose?
Business Studies (N100) at Liverpool JMU, Sheffield Hallam, Manchester Met, Leeds Met & Lincoln

All similar offers etc (around 240-280 with 140-180 from A2 - im expecting 400+)
All accept critical thinking too, and all guarantee accommodation.
Any other distinguishing features i could look for?

Location, location, location. Make sure it's situated in a city that you'd be happy spending the next 3/4 years in. Is there a good student life? Are there a variety of societies, clubs, etc? What about job prospects? I know that's hardly the most important aspect of choosing a university but still, given your subject choice, it is something to consider.

You see this is the thing, obviously they're all in cities, but each City has its differentiating benefits. What would you choose?

Well, Manchester Met does have a good exchange/study abroad program so there would be opportunities for you to an internship abroad or something like that. That would definitely make your job application unique and stand out. And, Manchester is a nice city with a great music scene and you'd never be short of things to do there.

That's my pick but, obviously, it's entirely up to you. If you haven't visited them all yet, try to and then get a feel for the city. Sometimes, it's all up to that gut feeling we get about a place. I personally won't be firming/insurancing until I visit all of my choices.

Lincoln, because it was a low offer, and my first offer...!

Whichever one you firm, you could always insurance Lincoln, since it was a low offer. It'd be a great back-up, for sure.

This is exactly what i was thinking but then Leeds Met is really low too,
And my firm is Manchester/Sheffielf!
I've only rules Liverpool out (a nono tbh)

Aha, Lincoln was my first offer too! I was super excited about it as I was so flattered that somewhere actually wanted me! But then Manchester came along and I had a little cry :')

Even though I'm pretty set on Manchester, I'm still attending the applicant days at each university to ensure that I've chosen the best university for me. I suggest you do the same.

Also if you haven't seen it yet, the accommodation at Lincoln is amazing and SO cheap! The off-campus Brayford Quay and The Junxion are gorgeous!

I would firm Manchester and insurance either Leeds or Lincoln. As long as you can make the offer, doesn't really matter which one as you're shooting for your firm! :smile:

I havn't visited any of them! (Sounds quite bad, now i think...)
That sounds like a big seller for Lincoln, plus its slightly smaller whilst still having the good night life, combined with the low offer, its sounds perfect - just depends on the people i guess...

Do they contact you about Applicant days, or do you book them?

Im really taken on Lincoln too, but i'll do some research, e.g. stats, accom..., nightlife, ratings & see what i think!
I don't wanna rule out Sheffield or Lincoln as they've always been my gut choice..

You should receive an applicant pack through the post which details how to book the days. I got my pack about two weeks after receiving my offer. Make sure you've visited whatever university you end up firming as there's nothing worse than going somewhere you haven't visited properly!

Have a look through the individual modules on the courses of each of your universities - consider how many options you can have and what actually interests you. A big letdown for Criminology at Lincoln was that I couldn't pick any of my own modules until the final year (and I think it was only one option even then!). Whereas at Leicester and Manchester I had so much more choice about what I could specialise in.

Sheffield is a higher offer, yeah? So doesn't make sense to firm something with a lower offer than your insurance because you'd have to go to Lincoln either way, then.

you firm the higher requirement one, since if you make the grade for both, you can then go back and reject your firm and choose your insurance on the day of results

Ahh i didnt know you could take an insurance, and reject your firm if you wanted!
They are both 260 but sheffield has a slightly higher requirement with respect to how many points must come from A2, so i could firm sheff, higher, and insure lincoln, slightly lower - but then take either if i got 260?

Oh, I don't know if you can do that. Might want to check with UCAS to make sure. But I assume that if you didn't get it from A2 entirely, then Sheffield would be invalidated and you could go to Lincoln. On the flip side, you could always email Sheffield and still go, if they let you by short of a few marks.
