Is love worth fighting for?

I'd fight to still be with my husband no matter what, but I wouldn't fight to save our relationship if he'd done something terrible (i.e cheated on me). But I also disagree that love and relationships are hard work. Yes sure you have occasional arguments, but that's not hard work. Being in my relationship is easy as anything, unquestionable. It's like being with your best mate and I don't have to fight or put in hard work to be with my mates.

I'd agree with this on the terms of living together and being free to spend as much time together as possible but when its long distance, and then when you're both on term time holidays you both have to work a lot it becomes a lot harder. Thats when its hard work.

I mean. what's the point of love if it's easy?

Surely you mean: "What's the point of love if it's difficult." That makes more sense.

Not really.

A lot of people see love as something worth going for because it isn't easy. You go through all the ups and downs with that person because you live him/her. And as they say, nothing good ever came easy.

Hmm. What about eating, taking walks, masturbating, throwing stones at various objects, climbing things, watching films, socialising, playing computer games...

:ditto: (to Addzter)

Love is difficult to understand. It can make you or break you. It can be the difference between happiness and heartache etc...
.

No disrespect, but isn't that a bit sentimental/over-idealising?

A little. Obviously it depends on personal experiences but this was idealising from experiences of my own and those close to me.

Not worth fighting over. 'Love' is all in your head. Are you gonna hurt someone just for your selfish pleasure/happiness?
True love requires no forsaking/effort. If you're obviously having to overcome a lot of a struggles etc then it's not true love, and obviously it's not worth it.
Fighting against whatever **** gets in the way to make it work, yes. I had an argument with the boy the other day, made the effort, sorted it out and are now stronger for it. Actually harming yourself or giving up everything, hell no. If you love each other enough you shouldn't have to do that.

Yes, I believe true love is worth it.
Hell yeah.

Is it foolish to forsake everything, give every amount of effort, go through anything for love?

I mean. what's the point of love if it's easy?

Would you risk everything, scars, burns, anything to be with someone you loved?

Scars, burns? Are you walking over hot coals in India or something?

i disagree, how can you test the limits of love and know that it truly is love if you never have to prove it by putting the extra effort in when it's needed?

It's a figure of speech, are you always this pedantic?

I love how you've compared an emotion such as love, with daily things like eating, walking etc.

Why did you bother starting this thread as an anonymous poster if you're asking such a general question, if you don't mind me asking?

Why would you want to know the limits of love if you never have to find out?

Thank you!

And I think that you'll agree that those "daily things" are better.
I've learned the hard way it's only worth fighting for if you're both fighting the same battle. No point in fighting on your own.

Bue yes. If you're both willing to fight for it, it's always worth it.

Since I said I'm not a lovey dovey person in the first post I made in this thread.

I'll definitely agree.
Yes.
But the person you're fighting for must really worth it.
