Which of these is a better degree? Please help!

Economics BA from University of Essex or Economics BAecon from University of Manchester

Economics at Essex: I believe the economics department at essex is better than manchesters, however the university isnt ranked as high.

Economics at Manchester: on completion of the degree, your certificate would state that you completed a degree in "economics specialising in sociology". I don't know why manchester have decided this with their economics degree :s

would manchesters degree look more "watered down"

Manchester is the more 'highly rated' institution but, Essex's Econ department is excellent. It depends where you are aiming in job terms - for most things, university choice won't matter too much, so pick the one you like the most.
