You sound like an absolute ingrate.

It's christmas, be thankful you're receiving gifts at all. I haven't received so much as a christmas card from my 'so called' friends!

:|

I'd have preferred nothing to a present that clearly says "I got bored of shopping for you, so selected something clearly inappropriate for you - enjoy!"
they secretly think you smell like **** :console:

Actually, no - physically impossible.

Sell them on eBay. Provided you haven't opened them and used half of them already, they're not hard to make money from.

It's not their fault. It's probably due to the crazy amount of porno-style perfume adverts they have on TV nowadays.

Everyone loves a beautiful scent. It is so welcoming. Sometimes people use their particular scent as a signature sign for themselves like me. None of your friends meant to offense you but giving out perfumes is the best and the most common gift for all.

That is debatable in this case.

I'm female, for a start. What guy gets perfume for Christmas?

You clearly don't understand how bad the guy in the other thread smelt.

Perfume/deodorant/horse manure - pretty much anything that would make him smell better would be a good idea.
blame boots they do the 3 for 2 deal.

Now you say it, I did see a lot of Boots logos...

Great. So now they're not just thoughtless, they're also cheap.

Well we are in a recession. Just be happy you got something.

If they really can't afford it, why waste their money on something completely useless?
OMG shut up:rolleyes: . Be happy you got something, and stop replying to messages like this with the usual "but they don't like me they know i have allergies they're cheap etc".

Get over it, and as said before, be happy you got something at all.

They know what I like - they know what music I like, what authors I'm a fan of, they even know what foods I like ... so why did they choose to give me things I can't use?

Hmm... What did they give each other?

Am I the only person who NEVER smells like the soap does after using it?
It smells nice in the shower, but once I'm dressed all I can smell on myself is a hint of deodorant, and none of this "watermelon and liquid sunshine" nonsense.

Nothing says "you're getting older and I really have no idea what to buy you for Christmas" quite like a set of smellies.

Because fragrance and all associated with it is a beautiful thing.

Assuming that your friends didn't know about your allergies and the potency of fragrance's effect on them, they didn't offend or even try to offend and this notion just grates me.

It's the same as buying someone clothes to look good, this is just to smell good.

I see no difference, they both present an outside image to the world and in many opinions, smelling good is as essential to your wardrobe as the shoes that you wear.

But they did, that's why I'm so bemused about this gift - they know I can't use it...
