Well it depends what you are defining as 'hatred'. Religions have been targeting communities for years. For example... 'homosexuality is a sin, you will go to hell' I've heard this said a few times as I've passed by fruit loops in the street. They don't get arrested. They are exercising (or abusing) their right to democracy. Now I don't agree with everything the EDL does or says, but they have the right to voice those opinions as long as they don't step over a certain mark.

Neither. The EDL represent a far, right fascist movement. They claimed that they were against Muslim extremists, and not Islam itself(until of course the YouTube clip was shown). These people are extremists themselves.

The UAF represent a far, left, possibly communist leaning movement. They claim that they are against fascism, but don't want other groups to have their freedom of speech. In that sense, they are being fascists themselves.

Really, they both represent a lot of violence. Both seem to be over run by chavs. In low income area's, cultures are bound to clash, and not in a good way. Take W. Yorkshire for example. Both Leeds and Bradford have a fair share of the Asian community, but Leeds is considerably richer. Leeds is a "melting pot" where other cultures meet daily at work school etc... Bradford is considerably poorer, with a lot of working class people. It is a hugely populated Asian area, as it's a cheap place to live. As a result, members of the White culture claim "they took our jobs" which causes segregation. This initially lead to White/Asian segregation but as they say "scum breed scum" A lot of the Asian community will make things up about white people, about "conspiring" etc.. and a lot of White people will do the same about the Asian people.

This doesn't tend to happen in more middle class areas

The organisation's adherents give it a very bad name, kinda like the EDL. The organisation itself opposed fascism and preaches freedom of speech, equality, and all the rest of it, but it's followers have gotten a bit carried away. The same goes for the EDL - the organisation preaches against only extremist Muslims, but its followers get carried away and kick the **** out of anything brown that passes before them.

Btw, I don't fully support the UAF, but I sympathise with them way more than I do with the EDL. I found it ridiculously hypocritical when they egged Nick Griffin and prevented him from delivering his speech, and I find it hilariously ironic when they chant things like 'EDL off our streets' and all the rest of it. I understand the point you make perfectly well, but I ask you to look towards the organisation's policies first before you call them fascist, rather than look towards the atrocious behaviour of its hyped up followers, most of whom I don't even think know what the group actually stands for. I believe it was Orwell who said 'Like Christianity, the worst example for socialism is its adherents.' Substitute socialism with UAF (or even EDL for that matter) and you get the point I'm trying to make here.

If I had to join one, I'd definitely join the EDL.

I am 110% against the Islamification of Britain and Western Europe. I am not racist however, and the EDL's racist views put me off. Shame really, an organised, committed movement fighting radical Islam would have been excellent.

well, for those of us who actually have worthwhile things to do on saturdays, protesting against an entire religion, or stooping down to protest against such protesters seems to be very self defeating, ridiculous and quite frankly a waste of time.

the sooner the EDL realise that protesting in random towns against 'radical islam'- most of which isnt actually located in the mosques they are protesting at, but rather more likely found in the basement of a suburban house, the better communities will be. and the sooner the UAF stop thinking they are the saviours of muslims who quite frankly couldnt give two ****s about them, or that they are the nelson mandelas of their age, the better. both groups are rooted in sensationalism and self indulgence which ignores the real issues of dealing with islamic radicals in otherwise ordinary communities.

It's mostly about paying-off Stephen Yaxley-Lennon's mortgage arrears. It's been very successful at that - he's been seen several times in the Stone Island off Regent's St spending a couple of grand a time,

No, most just make rash and unfounded insults towards muslims (note that i say muslims here, not just fundamentalists) and are then rewarded either with likes or replies going along the lines of 'well said mate'- however, introduce any form of debate and they will dismiss you as a leftie or anti-british. This isn't racism; this is collectively targeting a minority group (of which a smaller minority of this group seems to be 'representative of them) and creating a common enemy.

EDL everytime because they are campaigning against terrorism their members seem to have their own opinion while uaf are racist against white people, campaigning for more terrorists attacks and are left wing sheep.
