Looll well that would actually be wise, cause from what I've heard, when you reach 3rd year - you basically have no life.

I wish I had hours like that, I'm working like a slave daily ¬¬ can't wait to go back to Uni. :moon:

Make SURE you've picked the right course :frown:

i've heard when you get to second year you have no life :frown:
:O not good - i hate my hours though, maybe im just lazy :frown: but i constantly get forced to work on my own and have to do the work of 2-3 people because we're understaffed

i've defenitly picked the right course, chose it when i was 11 and somehow still want to do the same thing now  why? do you think you've picked the wrong one?

Till I got this job I defined laziness. I only decided to go interview for practice - didn't think I'd get the job. Sometimes even I underestimate my awesomeness.

And I did pick the wrong course. LONG STORY (essay). But I'm now on gap year and reapplied to Uni. Got 3 offers, but considering going back to my old one.

but yeah **** happens ya know, that's why I've got so much time for TSR now.

Another counters girl. Can i ask are the women on ur counter bitches?
Yeah. I heard the first year is piss easy at uni so if you save up during that year you can use your money if you give up the job when you go further into the uni years. (That's what I done for college:biggrin:)

the meat and fish ladies all hate everyone (other than one) they always leave without us and completely ignore everyone on other counters.
Do you plan to continue with your hobbies or join societies? If so, your working hours could prevent you getting to things, which would be a pity. University is the time when lots of different activities are available with very little effort form you, so it would be a pity to miss out on the opportunities.

I think you've just answered your own question.
I don't think it's worth having a part time job during university if you don't need the money. University is a time for academics and socialising, not a time for sitting behind a till. If you have the free time then I'd suggest that voluntary work might be a better option as it'll look good on your CV, you'll likely learn more unique skills there than in Sainsburys and it'll also probably be easier going too, which'll you'll appreciate during the exam periods and times when your courseworks are piling up.

If you do need the money then I'd suggest taking a gap yah before university and working to save up some cash so you can properly enjoy the university experience.

this is what i thought at first
i have a job and was planning on saving around £1000 if i can.

but i don't know
I personally think it wont hurt to have a job to start with and see if it suits with everything because you can always drop it cant you if it doesnt
