UCL - MSc in Construction Economics and Management

Hi!

I am an overseas electrical engineer with considerable (about 5 years) construction experience especially in oil & gas sector. For the last two years i am doing procurement of a natural gas fired power plan project.

I have applied to UCL - Cons. Eco and Mang. and i am still waiting for schools response. I have some questions for experienced members:

1-Can this program lead me to procurement & contract or even quantity surveying departments?
2-How reputable this program is?
3-As an overseas student with almost 5 years cons. experience at 4 different countries would reputable companies like BP-AMEC-SHELL-BECHTEL-FLUOR consider my graduate or other kinds of application?

Honest answers please.

Regards
SH

I think you must realise you've asked such a specific question that you are in a far better position than any of us to answer it. It sounds like you need to speak to the school, no one here is likely to be able to answer this sort of detailed question. This is an architecture forum, predominantly for K100 and some planners and landscape architects. You appear to be a specialist M&E engineer.

You are right. Maybe I should have started this thread in postgraduate section which is being viewed by more people.

Hey Steve,

I dont know your graduation GPA but i know that admissions office is seriously considering work experience, for example i will be in that course hopefully in september but my gpa is not soooo high (according to UCL's standarts). However i ve worked in abroad for 6 months leaving for school for some time, and then turned back. It was a site experience like u mostly have i guess and now i m working in a proposal&business development department for one year as a proposal engineer. That work has also helped me to be accepted to UCL coz its a very relevant subject to this course. Even i ve been accepted though i got 2 years of work experience while my gpa was just over 3.0/4.0
btw, i m an international too, good luck mate.
