Here it says 8 hours. I'm not sure I've always done it before... I guess it won't hurt anyway. The normal charging time is 3 right? I guess 5 hours will be OK?

I guess to stay safe, but it doesn't really make a difference to Li-ion battery. I didn't do a long charge on mine and I'm having exactly the same or better type of battery time as others who use the phone.
