These are the universities that matter:

Harvard - Prestige
Penn - Banker heaven
Stanford - Techy heaven
Princeton - For the truly elite
MIT - gotta love those card counting nerds

And seriously, who wants to do that whole yale thing?

Is that general Penn or exclusively Wharton?

Wharton.

Harvard
Yale
Brown
Columbia
Stanford

These are heavily influenced by Gossip Girl and the Social network (for Stanford). Before watching either of them I probably would have included MIT and Princeton instead of Brown and Stanford.

The ones I first thought of were:

Harvard
Yale
MIT
Princeton
Berkeley

But I don't know why I thought of Berkeley. Stanford or Columbia or CalTech probably ought to come above it.

Literally just the first five that I thought of.

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Standford, MIT. HYPSM, what do I win?
Surprised more people didn't mention Georgetown or Chicago. (even though I'm bitter against Chicago and their terrible disdain for Doctor Who-related essays.)

In no particular order:

Harvard
Stanford
Princeton
MIT
Berkeley
Yale, Princeton, MIT, Stanford, Harvard, I'd say (not in order), but there are really too many to pick just five.

So far there's...

Harvard 43
Yale 38
Princeton 34
MIT 31
Stanford 19
Brown 11
Columbia 8
Berkeley 6
Boise State 2
Duke 2
FSU 2
UCLA 2
Auburn 1
Baylor 1
Caltech 1
Carnegie Mellon 1
Cornell 1
CSU (non-specific) 1
Dartmouth 1
Georgetown 1
Johns Hopkins 1
Miami 1
Notre Dame 1
Oregon 1
Penn 1
Texas A&M 1
USC 1
UT Austin 1
Vanderbilt 1

Interesting notes...

No love for Chicago? Odd.

3 of the Ivies (Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn) have received only one mention.

What's up with Boise State?

Brown is astonishingly high, and Berkeley seems low.

Stanford is receiving fewer votes than it should.
