Witte and Stolypin were the Romanov's last hope of maintaining Tsardom Russia. To what extent do you agree?

Thats a tough one. If you could do that, it would be great help.

Thanks

Sure It's probably easier if you tell me the topic / exam board, because each have a different style they require to reach the top levels  .

>.< ok do you know the period you're studying? It makes a difference with the way you answer the question :P what exam board are you using? ( OCR AQA Edexcel ect.)

oh its edexcel but what if you tell me generally about their history essays? (A) ;p
this is not an essay question but i was wondering if you could give information about socialism-what is it, about it, a little history and its views and progression through the 20th century

thanks

Ermm ok I don't know how much essay practice you've had so I'll start with the basics.

Introduction.
- Outline the 4 paragraphs you're going to go into depth about
- Give a line or two of your opinion
- Have your last line like a mission statement with your answer to the question asked (i.e How far was the Russian Revolution caused by Tsarist Ineptitude?) - [The stress and strain added to Russian society by tsarist mistakes can not be underestimated] ( sounds simple in this example but when it's not a clear-cut answer it's well worth including.

Paragraph 1 - 4 ( addressing each theme )

A lot of Questions will include a named theme such as the one above [Tsarist ineptitude] and so I always address this first.
- Open with the thrush of the paragraph
- Give your example to back-up your point
- Analyse the fact you've used and relate this to the question
repeat this within each two or three time depending on time / amount of facts

Conclusion

Very similar to the Introduction but draw upon a few more of your facts you've used
expand on your mission statement with a bit more force

this is a very general technique >.< If I knew the style your course requires I can give you a bit more help :P

Is it - Edexcel GCE History: Russia in Revolution, 1881-1924: From Autocracy to Dictatorship ?

hmm that's a broad term to explain :P

socialism believes in the redistribution of wealth, the extent to the redistribution goes some way to defining the type of socialism. I.E violent redistribution of wealth = Communism, or higher taxation modern-day socialism.

Robert owens, Marx's and Engels are key thinkers in socialism they give a good basis if you're looking to read into it.

20th C. Socialism was born in the post - industrialisation west. It was a reaction to how vast wealth and inequalities could be readdressed.

It's hard to describe socialism because it's such an umbrella term, if you've got any specific questions [ about this VERY brief outline or anything else ] feel free to ask,

Right; back home from Uni for New Years and so I thought I'd try help a few people out with their Russia essays, as, as sad as it sounds I love History

Post any Questions you have here; I'll try get back to you ASAP, It'll prob. be quicker if you quote me, or quicker still if you inbox me,

fire away!

Firstly, this question is killing me: "To what extent had the USSR recovered from the second world war by 1953?" (45 marks)

Secondly: At GCSE I used to get A's and A*'s, now I'm lucky if I scrape a B :frown: I've lost all my confidence in writing and have no idea how to structure essays anymore or how to answer coherently. Also I'm completely unaware of what the level of detail should be. Do you have a structure method I could follow?
yeah a few chapters on marxist leninism would be nice

thanks

Hi, i was wondering if you could help me with a couple of questions within the next few days.

Why did competing needs and ideologies bring the Tsar, revolutionaires, workers and peasants into conflict in 1905?

How significant was the assassination of Stolypin in the downfall of the romanovs?

Why did the Tsar take Russia into the first world war, despite domestic problems?

Any help would be very useful, thanks!

What impact did the 1905 Revolution have on Russian Government, Politics and Society.

Its for C/W but mainly I need Primary Sources. If you have any ideas where I could find them (and maybe Contemporary for that matter) I'd be very, very much appriciated!
