Got an application update from UCL today for Computer Science (I just love their organization!). Not an offer, rejection, interview, just to inform me that the application has been reviewed by the CS admissions tutor and now he will contact the faculty tutor because he is the one making the decisions for admission. It also mentioned that " All recommendations will be processed before the end of March". pfff

I got that too about two weeks after my interview, but then got an my offer last week (so four weeks after that update email, BUT that includes the xmas break).
You should probably get the result in within 2/3 weeks, not march. Good luck!
How was the interview?

Yeah just means a pass at AS level. I know what u mean, got to concentrate on maths and physics. they are hard but i'm sure you can do it!
had c4 today! o.O i'm reapplying from last year and retaking maths. redoing c4 and m1 because i didn't realise i needed maths for a computer science degree :colondollar: lol! so i took up maths in A2, but missed an A by one mark. epic. i did computing and economics at A2 and bio at AS. which exam board are u for maths?
I sent off my application on 12th December

Applied for:

Mphys (physics) Cardiff
Mphys (physics) UCL
Mphys (physics and philosophy) bristol
Bsc (physics and philosophy) kings
Bsc (physics and philosophy) royal holloway

Haven't had any offers yet so I'm kind of bricking it! Just hope at least one comes through soon :frown:

Ahhhh, jeez I hope they don't wait til March aye:eek:. I'm tempted to email politely and ask when they make their decisions, but I don't want to sound impatient (even though I am haha).

To be honest, I don't think they would mind that much. I submitted my application in early October and called their office at least four times in December/January asking for the status of my application (I wanted to check before I filled out other apps). The people who answered the phone were really nice, and last week the woman told me that because I was evidently eager to hear my decision, she would flag my application to be handled first. I got my decision within 7 days.

I encourage you to call as well! Good luck!

Actually, people go there to see sheep xD ( There's not a lot of cattle here...) So, to get back on topic.. what kind of Natural Sciences are you doing? I'm thinking Bio+Math.

Yeh I'm leaning towards a chemistry option and a bio one. But I also wouldn't mind some maths aye, but we'll see. I just wanna try and stay broad for as long as possible coz I'm not sure what I want to really specialise in.
Where else have you applied??

Thanks again.

Chemistry O_o...you're a brave soul...I died in Chemistry class; I'm more of a physics person.

The admissions people don't stalk this, do they?? Hope not. I already got into St Andrews, Edinburgh and U of Michigan and got rejected from Cam. According to the people on the Imperial thread, that means I meet the requirements for Imperial xD. I also applied to some other U.S. and Canadian unis...

Where else have you applied???? ~

Does anyone know if there's a good social scene down there? In terms of nightlife, but also just relaxing with mates?

See I'm the opposite in that I can't stand physics and just can't do it (despite being able to do maths haha wierd).:s-smilie:

That's awesome, congrats!! I don't know much about the unis being from NZ, but I know that St Andrews especially is a mean uni, well done. Um I've got offers for Durham and Birmingham in the UK and still waiting on UCL and Southampton. I also got rejected from Cambridge after the interview (surprise, suprise.......not:smile:).
It's been a while since I was on this thread- just wanted to check in on any Economics and Business with East European Studies offer holders (wow that's a long course name lol).
I have an offer and it's my first choice after my Cambridge rejection, so I'd like to meet fellow offer holders and potential classmates

Lol... the Cam people got my name wrong ("Yae" instead of "Yae Rim" :?) ~~ I'm curious; where in the world did you do your interview?? If I remember correctly, the closest place must've been Singapore or something.
You did a good job so far too~~ I have a friend who I'm (pretty) sure applied to Birmingham too; dunno if she heard from them yet though. I also don't know a lot about UK unis, because most of the kids at my school just stick the USA. :frown:? Apparently, a lot people will be disappointed if I don't end up in the UK because they want an excuse to visit Europe and/or see the Harry Potter castle. xD

Haha um I went all the way to Cambridge, we had a holiday in England after (which was so cool:smile:) because over here school finishes in late November/early December and then starts again in Feb.
Yeh I think it will be between Durham and UCL (if I get an offer) in the UK for me.
Most people here go either stay here or some go to Aussie and a few over to the US, but hardly any to UK aye. Haha yeh it does give people a good excuse aye:smile:

Thank you!
Probably. But I'm from Canada, so I'm still waiting on some Ivy league/Canadian uni decisions.
I wrote my LNAT in late Oct. I'm really curious about my score.
Did you apply for Law too?

Hey, congratulations on your offer! Do you mind me asking when you sent off your UCAS?

When did you apply? I applied about a month ago for neuroscience, received the same email, and now I'm still waiting! It's so frustrating to wait, because many people have already had interviews and received offers... Good luck!

I sent my app in the beginning of November! I understand you feeling... I'm extremely frustrated as well!!

Oh great! But I never had an interview (:s-smilie:) so probably it is going to take them longer to respond to me?

Ah ye. Well I think that update email basically means they've decided and are going to process the offer/rejection soon. If that's the case it wouldn't take any longer to respond, think you would receive something in about 2 maybe 3 weeks.
I do know however the next interview day is 2nd February. So they may wait until after that if they are comparing candidates?
But as I said I think that email means they have already decided. :crossedf:

Nah, they have two more after that. 9th & 16th March. But if you have received that update email already they would never wait until then to decide.
