Hi there fellow IBers

I thought it'd be useful to have a thread on here similar to the UCAS Decisions/Offers thread on UCAS but specifically for IB students to make it easier to see what points requirements or subject combinations universities are making offers with as its often difficult to try and get that information when 99% of people are posting their offers and stuff in AS/A2 grades and stuff.

Maybe everyone can post any offers that they've received and decisions in here under the following format.. I'll try to order it into a list  :

University:

Ugh. TSR makes me feel so dumb. >< How the hell are you guys all predicted like 36+? D: I never considered myself stupid until I found TSR lmao.

University: East Anglia (UEA)
Course: Law with American Law
Date Application sent: 4th Jan 2011
Decision: Conditional offer
IB Points Prediction: 30 (dropped from 35 ><)
Offer conditions (in IB points): 34
Higher Level Subjects: Maths, physics, English, ICT.
Standard Level Subjects: Chemistry, French.

Now I have to do three months of pure revision to get my grades back up to 35 from the abysmal 30 they dropped to.

You were predicted 44 and they only asked for 40!!!!
Wow, you are immensely lucky!
(Cambridge wants you, screw the other silly universities! I'm sure they will stumble across your application and be like 'yes please!' )

Thanks you are very nice.

Yes, well right now I'm working my butt off to get that 40 points because I have nowhere else. In fact I've been doing that since January 5th when I got the offer! The tricky part is only dropping 1 point in HL subjects, and I'm so slack with coursework that I need higher than normal marks in the papers to get the 7s :frown: I think my school was very, VERY generous predicting me all 7s and a 2 in core..

Yes they were. I hate the fact that so many people were predicted 7s so easily yet I get 6s in mocks and get predicted 6s. :hmmm:

And these same people, including yourself, were the ones who got into Oxford/Cambridge.

That comes down to the interview much more than predicted grades really....

No one in their right mind would apply to Oxbridge with a predicted total of less than 38.

^This.
To be honest, they probably see anything that is 40/41+ as meaning you could be good enough, then the final decision is based on everything else (PS, interview, their tests etc). Rawr, I have to get exactly what I was predicted... so anything dropped anywhere...and I'm doomed. STRESS.

How are you predicted 44/45 isn´t it out of 42 for predictions?, plus don´t you need a ridicously high bmat for cambridge, also did you go for an interview?, anyways congrats and good luck

A lot of schools give a prediction /45 rather than 42 (I know mine do, too). Probably by internally marking the EE/ToK before sending it away to IBO to be marked officially.
