Rodgers picked up too late in the Season. If he had played all season like that, he would have been up for MVP never mind pro-bowl.

Brees doesn't have as many good receivers.
Besides you can pick any stat you want to tell a different story.
Passing Yards:
Brees: 4,620
Rodgers: 3,922
Passing Touchdowns:
Brees: 33
Rodgers: 28
Passer Rating:
Brees: 90.9
Rodgers: 101.2
So Rodgers has a better rating, but rating alone doesn't determine who is best. However I would agree it is the primary indicator. Thing is Brees won the Superbowl last year, and so I don't feel that one year where he isn't the best means he isn't as good as Rodgers.
