Are tigi bedhead shampoos too strong for home use? Hair loss..

So i recently purchased some tigi bedhead extreme straight shampoo and conditioner and it worked somewhat. I bought it because it doesn't contain sodium laureth sulfates like the cheap supermarket shampoos which are supposed to be bad surfactants for your hair. But now I think this may be making my hair fall out...my fringe is going and my hairline at my temples is receding...

It made me wonder if the bedhead shampoos are only for professional use and thats why you can only buy them in salons/online. Maybe they are too strong for everday use at home?

I dunno. I have friends who used Tigi products w/out problems. Maybe your hairloss would have happened whatever shampoo you were using?

It would seem really odd that a haircare manufacturer would sell something that promotes hairloss. Surely nobody would buy their products?

I also use their hair styling waxes and putties without problem. I am not saying the shampoo and conditioner promote hairloss...I am asking if there is a chance that maybe the products are too strong for my hair to take everyday. If they are used in salons then there is a chance the products use stronger concentrations of key ingredients for maximum efffect.

Let me rephrase my post: It is probably unlikely that the Tigi shampoo is causing your hair loss. You could be have some one off freak reaction, but nobody here will be able to assess whether that is the case.

I have never heard of Tigi shampoos causing hairloss, or that any sort of shampoo causes hairloss.

I'm pretty sure they're used in salons because they feel nicer to use and make your hair feel nicer, they're premium products and are probably not as widely sold because most people wouldn't spend that much money on shampoo, so they are sold in specialist retailers.

Ask your GP.

To be fair I used some TIGI shampoo for straight hair and my hair (which is normally really thick) got really thin. Though I was using alot of products at the time (mostly tigi.

Also lost a lot of hair using this shampoo and condition stoped using it and hair stop falling out...Went back again and lost hair again.PLEASE STOPPING USING THIS STUFF!!
My daughter has become concerned about some hairloss as you have described and we have come to the conclusion that it might be the bedhead shampoo and conditioner too. Just by chance I thought I would search if anybody else has had this problem and came up with this discussion......it's in the bin.
I recently started using Tigi bed head urban antidotes level 3 shampoo and my hairfall problem started. I'm scared to wash my hair with this shampoo as I could see a bunch of hair strands falling out!!! :frown:
I like to change out my shampoos every now and again, I’ve found that every time I use the bed head brand my hair falls out in clumps in the shower, I also find that my hair fallout is increased when I brush my hair when using bed head compared to other brands, won’t be getting it again
Not that I have an answer, however I’m in the exact same boat as you... Started using bed head shampoo in my hair has never looked worse and it’s falling out by the handfuls!
Same as all of you guys. I started using bedhead tigi shampoo and condition 8 months ago and my hair has become *so* thin. Before using it I would only lose about 20-30 strands of hair in the shower, and not a lot when brushing. Whereas now, I'm losing about 100 strands in the shower, and I'm freaking shedding hair everywhere I go. My hair also gets frizzy within a day a showering and the products leave my scalp super dry, my dandruff has become....unspeakable. I wouldn't recommend using this.

The hair loss is due to the fact it contains 'dmdm hydatoin' which is actually a formaldehyde releaser and people have sued due to this ingredient causing hair loss.
I love the bedhead urban renewal line, but switched from blue bottle to orange,
I got hairloss too... like a lot. At first I thought because of changing new product and that I need some time for my hair to get used to it. But now.. I'm regretting :frown:
YES. I started using Bed Head Urban Antidotes shampoo and conditioner AND MY HAIR IS FALLING OUT and my hairline is receding around my temples and front hairline too. I am devastated. Does anyone else know if my hairline will ever come back????? How is this product still on the market !?!?!?!?!
I too suffered hairless after using bedhead jelly shampoo and conditioner and I mean bald patches, I went to doctor and they said alopecia. I stopped using the shampoo as it left a horrible residue on my hair. I looked up reviews and i had seen a comment that says residue and hairloss, so I put it to the test and started using it again and sure as hell my hair fell out after 4 washes and its not average hairloss when brushing its in clumps big enough to leave bald patches all over my head.
