Comiserations, but you got into IMperial, so congratulations, have a great time there!

Thanks. I'm not too bothered as Imperial was my first choice anyways. Someone who really wanted that place at Durham will have the offer instead. So all good :h:

Hi guys! I'm not an official applicant yet but hopefully will be transferring to Durham this September. I think I like St Mary's College <3

You will be joining me then  Whats your reason for transferring?

1. I have a serious crush on Durham University in general
2. The course I want to do is more flexibly combined with sciences, which it isn't at Cardiff
3. The college system is more of a community feel, which Cardiff doesn't have

But I'm still waiting to hear back if they will even consider me. I contacted one department and was told they have no offers left to give, but then when I asked a different department they took my details and the admissions team will apparently get back to me if they have places left. Scary!

What about you?

How important are these open days at the end of March? Should we go even if we know we definitely want to go there?

If you are undecided as to which courses to do within Natural Sciences, the open day is useful. Otherwise you won't miss anything except meeting other people who will be going to your college. You'll soon catch up on that in October.

I've been to Durham, really liked it and would be more than happy to go there. Haven't actually been to Edinburgh but it looks really good, thing is its AAA and i'm having a bit of a confidence crisis so if i got the offer don't know if i'd actually choose it. So I don't know which i like the most, if i get an offer i'll go up and have a look and decide then.

I chose st.andrews coz iy had loads of marine biology orientated modules which i'm considering specialising in and i really loved exeter cornwall when i went there although yes it is a pretty small town which i am starting to get concerned about now. Still i've lived in a hamlet for my entire life so won't really make a difference!!
I didn't actually look at Leeds and Newcastle for some reason, was going to put Reading, Newcastle or Nottingham then decided i'd go for the scottish ones for the cheaper fees...

I will, good luck!!

Have you heard back from durham yet? i got an ABB offer  for collingwood

Ah OK, I'll look into the open day then. When do we choose our modules?

Received an offer from Durham University for ages ago, but I wasn't keen on making an account here before now

Anyway, Durham is my firm choice (although I am still waiting for Warwick). Received an offer for L100 Economics and my accommodation is confirmed to be at St. Aidan's College.

Any Norwegians here? From Oslo in particular?

Once you have your A level results, they ask to tell them your possible plans using the web form here (note this is last year's):
http://www.dur.ac.uk/natural.sciences/freshers/

The timetable for 2011-12 will be available by then.

They will check that your proposals leave you with a viable course(s) for the second year onwards.

Thanks that great, saved into favourites
If there is an MSci pathway they recommend, there shouldn't be any clashes then should there?

If it's an MSci joint honours then the modules are guaranteed.
