Oh some of the Cambridge offers are 42 and the most notable one is the Economics guy who got a 45 offer for Peterhouse College.

Haha, my Oxford offer is 39 points :P with a 7 in HL Economics. 1 point hardly makes it easier though lol. Man it would suck to miss offers especially after the long application process.

For me it was: Fill up UCAS and apply --> Take the TSA --> Get called for interview --> Get an offer.
To miss it after that.......ughhh.

Good luck with that! I hope you get in, I'm not too sure if I'll be joining you though...

I had pretty much the same: Fill up UCAS and apply --> Take the Linguistic Aptitude Test --> Get called for interview and also take French grammar test whilst at interview --> Get an offer.

Which college have you got an offer from?

yesyes i do know that, but you also must bear in mind that you are being graded on a scale so you are basically competing against thousands of other Ib students!
Which in turn makes it more difficult depending on how others did, it´s a quite complex situation and not so sure you´ll get it, Anyways you didnt mention how much you study like daily? :frown:

The fact that you're being graded on a scale doesn't necessarily make it more difficult... the grade boundaries can just as easily go down as up... that's why maths grade boundaries have been so low for the past 2 years  also I got a 5 in my mock and a 7 in the real thing, so going up 2 grades is perfectly possible

Fair enough, that's what I was told that's all.

Damn. :frown: People offered 40 points from Cambridge?! I thought I was taking the option with the lower offers... anyone applied for Oxford and get offered below 40?

I just find it sickening that A Level students only need 3 As to get into Oxford. Oh well, Aberystwyth it is for me!

An offer of 40 would be a dream. Then I would have a 2point gap for f*cking up :s-smilie:
But I definitely agree with you. I'm not saying that to get 3 A's you don't have to work hard, but in comparison to get over 40 points you have to do a hell of a lot more work!

I have to make up 2 points somewhere, which is not likely at the moment considering how badly my mocks are going. Oh well, I'll be happy to go to Aberystwyth.

I have more offers

University: UEA (Firm)

Decision: Conditional
IB Points Prediction: 28
Offer conditions (in IB points): 30 something

University: Anglia Ruskin

Hi. Just wondering if you got a unconditional offer from UEA (firm)? Is it normal that Unis accept you despite you don't have the minimum entry requirements?

Thankful for answers.

Cheers.

Course: Economics and French
Date Application sent: late October / early November.
IB Points Prediction: 38, though 32-36 is looking more likely.
Higher Level Subjects: French / Economics / Psychology

University: University of Glasgow
Decision: Conditional, I may well firm.
Offer conditions (in IB points): 34

University: University of Sheffield
Decision: Conditional, I may well firm. I'm torn between here and Glasgow!
Offer conditions (in IB points): 35 with 6 in HL French.

University: Cardiff University
Decision: Conditional, I probably won't firm or insure.
Offer conditions (in IB points): 34 with 6 in HL French

University: Aberdeen University
Decision: Conditional, I'll insure unless I'm feeling mental and insure Glasgow instead.
Offer conditions (in IB points): 30 with 15 at HL. Relieving to have an offer that's very doable. Still, only one of last year's cohort exceeded this. :s-smilie:
