Need a hand with drawing up cell diagrams.

I missed the lesson on it! :P Tried to look it up, but i'm a bit confused.

I've been given half equations and the electrode potentials.
How do I use these to draw out the cell diagrams?

Thanks in advance everyone :smile:

Yeah! Thanks, found it in second one..

Lets see if I got this right then!
Ag+ + e- -> Ag 0.80V
Mg2+ + 2e- -> Mg -2.36
Ag+ + Mg -> Mg2+ + Ag

Mg | Mg2+ || Ag+ | Ag

Cell E.M.F = 0.80 - (-2.36) = 3.16

Is that right? :smile:

I saw Pt(s) on some of the cell diagrams, what's that about? :s-smilie:

It's an inert platinum electrode, which is needed to act as a catalytic surface for some redox couples to react on.
