Hello mate,

Ive just accepted my place for Podiatry at UWIC aswell. If im honest I cant answer any of your questions cos im not 100% sure lol. Im lookin forward to Cardiff as it looks awesome going down in June for an applicant day. As far as halls go im not sure which ones to choose. Cos the course is in Llandaff the halls at Plas Gwyn are apparently closest to the campus but the city centre itself is only 10 mins away I believe. Really want to find out how to apply for the NHS bursary. Im from england but i think i still have to apply through the Welsh NHS.

If anyone could help out that would be great!

Hey, im at UWIC Llandaff, but im studying biomedical science, so cant really help much on your questions about podiatry. But, in my first year we did share out human anatomy and physiology lectures with the podiatry students!

Human anatomy and phys. was really good, we did: Nervous system, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, endocrinology and I thinks thats about it. It was quite in depth. There were 2 exams, one after xmas, one in may.

I live local to Cardiff so I have lived at home, but in the first year everyone seemed to be big fans of Plas Gwyn halls.

Cardiff is a well good city, great nightlife that caters for everyone, plenty of sports and live music. Loads of shops, friendly people.

Good luck with your application etc.

uwic should be paying me for advertising haha.

have you had an unconditional from then yet ? as i already have my grades and my offer is stil conditional , tbut they said it was stil conditional regarding funding and from what i have figured out is we can stil get a student loan but we also get some from the nhs via a busary scheme

Tyler,

I spoke to a tutor at uwic who said that mine was unconditional cos I already have my grades ! So hopefully you will aswell ! Are you from England ? I'm going to try and get some more info on the bursary this week ! I need to know if I'm eligible etc cos if not I won't go !

oh right , im confised as to why mine isnt unconditional then as i already have my gradfes too....i just have this vision in my head of them rejecting me at the last minute even though they have sent me a letter confirming and offering me a place on the course but they havnt changed it to unconditional ? its confusing me , but in terms of the busary you will be eligible i cant think of any reason why you wouldnt be or why they would reject you, ive also been trying to ring them to get awnsers to my queries bt know one seems to know anything...how much we get and when we can apply its useless...

Well the scope of practise is brilliant and very varied than what most people realise! You can specialise in various fields and even go into podiatric surgery, and instant relief is what we provide to our patients on a daily basis and we can open up our own business as a private practitioner why do u ask?
