Its a slim chnace for us all, they said for 2010 intake there were 40 applicants for EACH post, and to make it worse they expected more applications this year (info taken from the documented link in the post above).

Scary, isn't it!!!!

Where have you applied for? I have heard back from Newcastle and Reading for medical physics but none of the others yet.

Hey only heard back from Newcastle for medical physics so far. Where have you applied to?

good news? congrats if it is! I applied to nearly all London ones-not feeling optimistic:s-smilie: One open day I went to said they anticipate 300 applicants for 9 posts-->30+ to one.

I reckon decisions should come out by this Friday.

Good news for Newcastle got an interview, bad news for Reading but I didn’t realise it was only radiation safety so prob for the best with that one. Also applied to Manchester, Scotland, Oxford and Tooting (London) however I now hear that Oxford and Tooting are only radiation safety and imaging even though in the advert it stated they were looking for applicants for all three disciplines :s-smilie: I’m more interested in radiotherapy and would consider imaging.

I know the Scotland one has 200 applicants for 4 jobs but not heard about the others. I really hope they give us a weeks’ notice. I just heard from Reading a few hours ago so I'm assuming we will all start hearing now.
Must be the volumes they dealing with. Not long now...like everyone's been saying if we don't hear by Friday, take it as bad news. But I agree, the waiting is excruciating!

Hi Laura, I applied to Manchester, Northampton, Brighton and Coventry. Like you, a couple of the posts are actually specific specialisations (but they had clearly not altered the template that was sent as a guideline!). Not sure if I'll be in with a chance of an interview, but if I were to be, I'd like to know ASAP as I'd have to book flights, accomodation etc. Congratulations on the Newcastle interview by the way

Hi all, has anybody had any response regarding the microbiology posts yet, i've got to to the stage of checking my emails every hour now ! I know the assessment day is on the 13th so I presume the shortlisted candidates would be invited for a laboratory tour very soon (anybody else know any different).....

For the people who have applied for the micro posts, whats everybodys background, Ive heard a lot of people with phd's are the only successful ones?

For all the microbiology candidates, the process of shortlisting and notification of applicants will commence on the 28th of March
Just wondered has anyone had an interview offer for audiology yet?
Everyone just seems to be saying different things lol!!... Im waiting on Audiology and cardiology - not feeling to hopefully tbh... but will have to wait and see
Does everybody know that only a maximum of 4 posts can be applied for?

What happens to those who applied >4??

Hey! yeh you could only apply to 4posts excluding Scotland and Newcastle as their not part of the same hiring process. Not sure what happens to people who applied for more :s-smilie: I had just assumed the jobs site would have not let you submit more than 4, assuming you did though since you ask

I think it will only be a problem if you get shortlisted for more than 4, otherwise they will not know. All the shortlisted candidates get sent to the central office at NHS West Midlands who then arrange the interviews and inform the candidates . Somebody else said there would be serious consequences if this was the csae, I would assume the applications would be void as it was a simple instruction to follow in the application process.

Having said this, if you have I wouldnt worry because the chances of getting shortlisted for >4 posts is very very unlikely!!!!!!!!!!

For anyone who applied to genetics at Leeds they did have the open day for shortlisted candidates today, so if you wasn't there it was a no.
