Is anyone else finding it impossible to find work?

By the sounds of it at least you will be in full time education soon. Think of those who have left uni and are having trouble finding work.

I've got a part time job, only 10 hours a week or so - but I love it and wish it was full time. Pay is a bit more than the dole but if I wasn't living with parents or had dependants I would really be struggling. My friends are in worse positions than me and they have good degrees.

Graduate - I do part time work as a note taker for disabled students. I enjoy it as the lectures are varied (could be anything from history to medicine, they try and match you up with subjects you are comfortable with eg. related to your degree).

Other part time work is helping care for people with learning disabilities - only just started this one.

Both jobs together should be enough to save up for my travels/further study. Putting off getting a propper job until I have at least done some travelling. Probably wont get a 'propper' job until I'm 30 :P

every time i'm jobhunting, there's always jobs for graduates which annoys me because I know that when i'm a graduate there's going to be no jobs for me :|

I think there are 17 graduates chasing every advertised job, so even though you see them advertised, doesn't mean the job market is thriving. When you graduate, the job market may have picked up - I think 2009 and 2010 are down on record as the worst years to graduate.

Over the last several months i've applied for countless jobs , had a few interviews but no success.

The majority of the employers i applied to didn't even contact me at all whilst others wrote rejection letters or emails.

I've received rejection letters as well as emails, but most don't even bother returning your email. Normally I would find that very rude, but what with the hundreds of applicants they receive for every vacancy nowadays then I can hardly blame them. I'm not even lucky enough to get an interview! Oh well, here's hoping we all don't end up being broke until September comes around

I know I am only one of 2.53 million unemployed right now, but even I am starting to feel demotivated. The amount of times I check the direct.gov jobseekers page is bordering on obsessesion, and I pester my local recruitment agency for work constantly, I use the access points when I go to sign on, and I ask around in shops and supermarkets and I'm just not having any luck what so ever.

There seems to be an increasing number of jobs paying minimum wage requiring plenty of previous experience and references even for simple things like a Warehouse Picker and Assembly Operator.

I'm guessing this is obviously because companies, like everyone else, are feeling the pinch and would rather pay minimum wage to somebody experienced and who can work faster and be more productive..but it leaves the rest of us languishing amongst the ranks of the unemployed.

I'm starting college on a full time course in September but I am really hoping I'm not going to be unemployed all over summer, and I dread to think what sort of peasant existence I'll be living on £30 a week if I don't find a part time job whilst I'm at college.
