units conversion

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how to convert O2 consumption rate that has units of mol/l/s into
something that has units of s^-1.
I want to convert the units because I need to use 's^-1' for my mathematical model. I searched everywhere but couldn't find an answer.

Thanks in advance,
May
well to get something in units of molsl1s1mols \, l^{-1} \, s^{-1} into something with the units s1s^{-1} you're going to have to multiply it by something with units lmols1l \, mols^{-1} or divide by something with the units molsl1mols \, l^{-1}

molsl1 mols \, l^{-1} sounds like the more obvious thing

you mean multiply it by something with units mol^-1 l ? yes I thought about that... but what exactly is this quantity?

well dividing by something with mols l-1 makes more sense as i'm sure you can work out how many moles in a litre

Um. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that mol/l/s is

'Moles Per Litre Per Second'

Which is ml1s1m l^{-1} s^{-1}

thanks for your reply but I'm not a chemist and wouldn't know how to but let me have a go:

say O2 consumption rate was 7x10^-5 mol/l/s

1mole O2 = 32 g

then what?

and what do both units mean in terms of O2 consumption?

yes, thats just another way of writing it

Oh, you meant just s1s^{-1} units, sorry :colondollar:

Um, I dont know... Find the litres per mole and multiply by that? That'd be

lm1×ml1s1=s1 l m^{-1} \times m l^{-1} s^{-1} = s^{-1}

so how do I find the litres per mole? thats my question

Google: 26.2 L/mol for oxygen.
