JB is full of girls? :ninja: The sentinel is for them as well and also Business students who might be in even less, I'm doing engineering and i'm only in for 2 and a half days so i really wouldn't worry, they do the matching up thing to make sure it turns out right

Girls are good :yep: but the whole of leeds uni is more girls than boys :60:40, so JB might not be worth the risk, if i'm stuck with guys mainly i'll simply asked to be moved or something.

I hope so! then start budgeting and sort out other things

Haha  yeah! Wherever you go its going to be good anyway! Haha, you will meet plently of girl if its 60:40

Eek, i know i just got my declaration for my student finance ect so ive just been working out how much i will have a week without a job and its looking pretty promising! So im at ease with the money situation.. i know i wont starve haha!

I couldn't make the visit day on Saturday. But I think the Tannery looks SO nice! It even has double beds  Kind of confused why not many people are talking about it :/ hope there isnt a catch. What was the journey to Uni like? Any buses for the freezing Leeds winters :s?

Sorry if some of this has been asked I can't keep up with this thread

me and MoS do that wherever we go :teehee:

And the pictures are always misleading, with that said, it is for the rest of the accommodations as well, just don't get hopes up too high to avoid dissapointment, but should be good...wish there was someone around who's seen it

lol, that's one of the things that converted me, plus the common room....assuming it really looks like that.
My course is gonna be like 80% guys, i like a fair mix, so accom's gonna have to make up for it. It is very close to lots of accommodation for leeds met students and a big bar, few mins walk from city centre too so...

I'm used to waiting, for medicine it's the norm to wait for 5months, i apply in october and the earliest decision is in february, the last 3 were mid march =.=
I only applied the friday before the last so....Once again getting excited for un

The common room does NOT look like that, the website is really mis-leading! When I went it looked kinda shabby and was cold.
I really didn't like the Tannery when I went, the people showing you round weren't very helpful and the bathrooms were tiny!
But then again double beds and newly refurbished bedrooms are very appealing... the bathrooms are like little pods
Also there were no recycling bins in the kitchens! I don't know if you're a big environmentalist but that proper narked me ahah
On the social side all I found out was some people for sentinel towers use the common room, so lots of international and post-grad students in there
However! the tannery did have a Nisa, which very nearly persuaded me ahah
good luck deciding

YOU F**KIN LEGEND !!!! THAT LOOKS EPIC !!!!,
Too bad i'm a dental student, otherwise you know...there would've been of that sig in my sig too  with permission ofc....

Thanks so much 'PhilosophyIsMyGame' and 'dmz'. This is SO unrelated to accomodation however, since you are so kindly replying to questions... Are there any fit/hot guys at Leeds? lol Thanks

I'm an average looking guy so i hope not :colonhash:

Lots of hot girls so they must be after something, lol

think i'm getting minimum and i'm barely middle class (i think my parents are screwing me) hopefully i'd have saved up enough by summer but it doesn't look like it'll be an issue for now :h: :five: Most of my budget will be for food, lol

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST MADE MY MIND UP! Thanks though :h:,

where else did you go that you can compare it with? It was cold in the rooms or...?
Around what time did you go? I had same reception at JB and Leodis but they were bored of their heads already cos it was about 4.
Bedroom counts a lot more than bathroom cos i'm not in there too often, as long as they have hot water and don't look dirty and gringe-like?
I'm not an environmentalist but i understand your concern. Were the rooms newer looking than JB?

Also it's 10mins walk from city centre, 20 max from uni, and 10 from where i wanna work
Damn!!

It seems we'll be sharing the same building. You could always use a similar sig, but with BChD instead. :shades:

I'm in North Hill Court atm if anyone wants any info/pictures then I'm here to help!

Thinking of putting it down would prefer James Baille or Henry Price but they are oversubscribed and dont want to risk being put somewhere I didnt choose

How long does it take a quickish walker to get to where that big library bit is?
Some people are put off by there being so few people is that okay? do you socialise people from accomodation nearby?

Thanks in advance

According to tour guides, "Leeds takes in all the interesting people and plenty of them just happen to be aesthetically appealing." You'll just have to wait and see. :beard: Although I do think every university, especially the mahoosive city ones like Leeds, will have their fair share of fitties.

 well i'm probably good looking when the girls are drunk :teehee:

I have like two brothers both going to uni next year so it might get hard for my parents, plus i hate asking people/parent for money
Oh right, i have my child benefit from when i was 13 but i think my mum recently blew it on a new car so i've got that on her :colonhash: not sure if used mine or not . Aiming for 5K to save up and i'm supposed to get 1500 from uni in Jan.

Ofc i would, i looked at it, i was like "is that leeds?" then it hit me syltherin ( my fav house in Harry Potter )
Mayn my photoshopping skills are no way as near as cool as that to make one :frown:
Oh the course is also changed to MChD this year. Can't hurt to get a masters i guess :P

No, it took me about 15 minutes but i think its because i was paranoid reading the same questions about 10 times over haha!
Yeah it is pretty expensive! Did you go to the accommodation open day? James Baillie is VERY different in life then it is on the website i thought anyway

Quickish walker - about 20 minutes to the Brotherton (Parkinson steps)

No I love that there's only a few! we've all really got to know each other and it's just a lot nicer being so close knit and fewer people. You might not make as friends with so many people - but you make better friends with fewer! (I am aware that sounded very corny haha)

Hahaha sorry!!
Erm I went in the morning so they couldn't have been THAT bored lol, but they were all standing out in this little courtyard so they might have been a bit chilly , Leeds isn't renowned for it's warm weather :P

No it looked pretty clean! All the bathrooms were very new, cept you have to clean them and the kitchen yourself :s-smilie:, lets just say Im not a domestic goddess, but I think this is the same everywhere in Leeds
Yeah the rooms looked newer, just the carpets and stuff, but I think it's been done up quite recently

Hmm really~? I didn't walk round the area much but it didn;t look great haha! Maybe you just had to walk out a bit, the tannery is right next to a 4 lane road so I was imagining having to drunkenly run for my life aha

Oh yeah that would be hard, hopefully we'll get jobs and stuff and not have to rely so much on our parents haha
Oh yeah if she says no to money just use that against her :P
Yeah i'm sure that will be a comfortable sum of money to have
