Not quite sure how you managed to get some negative rep on this! Tried to balance it out but TSR won't let me...anyway, yeah, my school does manage to get down to pretty small class sizes even though it's a state school, but then we do get some outside funding as well. I think essentially the smaller the better, and that law schools offer the best they can afford - though Leicester manages to get it down to 8 people per tutorial, somehow - and this is why most subjects are better at Oxbridge, people just put more time into teaching you. That said, some teachers manage really well with large class groups, but then some, not so much...even a very good state grammar like mine which attracts very good teachers (allegedly) has a couple of real bad ones, including one of my current chemistry teachers - barely half of us even bother showing up for lessons these days, you could teach yourself more effectively...

Hell, it's TSR, thanks anyway.

I agree, smaller the better when it comes to class size, hence why Oxbridge are world class in pretty much all specialisms. I agree with the comment about it being a mixed bag at state school, some of my teachers did insanely well with 25+ students, whilst others did not so well with similar numbers.

Lol no.

I very much doubt anyone does 60 hours a week who isn't doing about 1/3 more work than anyone else. Pretty sure Oxford recommend 45 hours of work a week, although they say "constructive" hours, which I guess means they don't count the hours of work where you say you're working, but are really lounging.

But you'd get a better response in the Law section in the University Courses thread.

If you think about it, 40+hour weeks aren't absolutely terrible. If you treat it as a 9-5, and do 10ish hours on the weekends---that seems to be sufficient.

To be on the rowing team, it's 6 hours a day, 6 days a week (for the ACTUAL uni team.)

Which seems insane, people must just eat, row, work and sleep.

I'm warming to the idea of "Do nothing Sundays."
Meaning a 9-5 working week and a few hours on Saturday, coupled with glorious Sundays.

So (and not intending to dis but..) you could do like a politics degree in the same time you do rowing which seems insane....6 hours a day is alot for even olympic standard particularly when the exercises themselves are often at maximum out...usually take at least a days rest for muscle tissue to repair ect'...i can imagine your rowing team has alot of injuries and would be very easy to beat :l
