I don't think he's right for the role. Crowe can do dark and edgy, I just don't think he can do the manic Cockney loudmouth aspect of Butcher. A quote from Billy Butcher: "Okay *****. Who wants some? Who ****ing wants some?" Before diving into a brawl with a huge grin on his face. I don't see Crowe playing that character.
It shouldn't have got past round 2, even getting past Spidey in round 1 is debatable... maybe I should re-watch it.
Okay, I grant you that Serenity is probably doing so well because of the Whedon fanbase, but saying that it's worse than the sticky pile of guano that is Spider-Man is just beyond wrong.
So, two concurrent Supermen, Batman being rebooted in an alleged ensemble film, and no attempt whatsoever to keep the various DC film series in anything vaguely resembling the same continuity. Nobody is going to come out of this looking good. Hopefully this just implodes before it gets off the ground.
