Thanks man! Yeeeah i'm a foundationer, you have a tonne of work like, i'm diggin the 'pound of flesh' paintings and the foot shoe haha! If you're still on A Level that's insane.

Where about are you doing foundation? I'm applying for a foundation course atm..Just looked at your work and your painting is really incredible! Seeing as I'm a painter, would you recommed where you went?

Thank you! I'm just doing it at newcastle college, the tutors are great and the space is really good so i'd definately reccomend it! Saying that i'm only doing it there because it's local, it's mostly self initiated during specialism so it's not as major as making a uni choice.

congratulations everyone

I'm curious, how many of you are from outside UK, if anybody?

Saaame! Thought an unconditional was too good to be true haha, they changed it to conditional when they changed my entry point to second year. I've already accepted the offer too and I'm pretty sure i'll pass my foundation, mega excited! Btw do you know where the exact fees and stuff are, for the student finance forms?
I just got an unconditional offer for Architecture at GSA, I've never been to Scotland, I hope it's got nice weather

I'm from Canada  it's going to be exciting, I've never lived in a different country before.
Only just found this thread: I have an unconditional for Digital Culture. Anyone else for this course?

Does anyone know about term dates, Freshers, etc? UCAS says 1st sept, but it can't be that early, surely?

For that matter, has anyone actually received correspondence from GSA themselves yet? I've only had news through ucas, though I only firmed yesterday.

I firmed as soon as I got my offer, and still haven't heard anything from GSA...

I was wondering about dates too. I read somewhere - can't remember where - term starting nearer October, but UCAS does say 1st September, so I don't know.... Maybe that's when we have to go up and register etc. and then Freshers is after that? But it does seem MUCH earlier than everywhere else...

Hi,
I have firmed my offer as well, but haven't heard anything. But on my UCAS-site it says that I should expect my welcome letter soon.
It seems a bit early, I will begin in year 2, can I still go to freshers week and so on?
Anyhow, I'm just glad I got in. Things will just work themselves out I think.

Anyone else starting in sculpture/environmental art year 2 by the way?

I'm pretty sure freshers would be open to anyone who's new..
I don't know anyone else who's doing 2nd year Sculpture and Environmental Art but I am doing first year Sculpture and EA.

Hey, I guess it's been asked already but has anyone with an offer received any correspondance from GSA yet? Vaguely concerned about accomodation, since apparently demand outweighs supply anyway, and the biggest (Victoria Hall) according to their website is already sold out for '11-12. edit: actually I realise this is probably just sold to the uni since apparently they don't operate on first come first serve anyway.

just wondering since deadline for application is 31 May. and according to their site:

When you receive an offer of a place on a course of full-time study at GSA you will be sent information from our Registry about GSA. This will include info which directs you to the halls section of the GSA website.

I also live no where near Scotland, I'm currently about to take my GCSE exams but I know that I want to study art at university, does anyone know how much Glasgow and other Art universities look at GCSE results that aren't Art? Because I'm doing fine in Art, but i'm more worried about other GCSE's like Science and Maths which I'll probably get more like Bs and Cs in... do you need to be like a straight A student at GCSE to get into good art universities?
